Defakto Akkord Modular Review
Defakto watches is one of the few brands out there that can scratch our itch for a minimal, design focused watch. In the last few years, we've reviewed their Eins, a mechanical one-hander and the Detail a quartz one-hander, both of which were unique and enjoyable. Their focus on minimal dials, stark colors and bold shapes gives them an appeal not often found in the realm of sports watches, while their manufacturing gives them a quality not often found in "design" watches.Today we'll be taking a look at the Akkord Modular model. The Akkord has been out for a couple of years, and was the brand's first departure from one-handers into the world of precise minutes. It stayed true to the brand's aesthetic, but adds some needed functionality. This year, they updated the line with their "Modular" color ways, which mix steel/PVD or bronze/PVD elements for uniquely beautiful cases. Inside, the Akkord is powered by a Swiss-made ETA 2824-2 for good, reliable time keeping. Amazingly, despite rising
How To refinish AP Rose Gold Strap or Bracelet Plots
So I was in Las Vegas with the wife this past weekend and while I was walking next to her, she raised her arm and dropped it back down and by mistake her bracelets hit my new 44mm RG Roo.. OUCHHHH. I had a nice gash and small dent on the left plot at the 6 o-clock. the upside to this was it didn't hit the case or other hard to get area's.Once I got home, I contacted AP. Instead of paying and waiting 4 to 6 weeks to have them repair it, I decided to have a go at it. Now I have been refinishing watches for several years and not only do I have the proper machinery and tools, but I also have a steady hand. So I advise you to not try this unless you know what you're doing. Hard to keep a steady hand when working on a 46k watch let alone the perfection of a finish on an AP. So after I made a few phone calls, I gathered this info that I hope will help others in the future if you manage to scratch your AP. On stainless steel models, AP uses diamond grade sandpaper. On softer metals such as Gol

Omega Basel Releases
OK, so I cant share exactly what I have seen. I promised I would not. However, what is seen on the Omega website is not all that there was to the show. And some of what I have seen is really nice. One in particular, if the case is not as thick as they normally make them, I will be scooping up the moment it arrives. Truly, some pretty cool stuff. New iterations of the same thing in some cases, but also pretty cool.
I think I'm done with Rolex for a while.
I think I've covered all the bases as far as Rolex goes at the moment. Can't see room for a Sub in here, and not massive on the Daytona's (have a Speedmaster instead). The only thing I may find space for is a Datejust further down the line.I have a few other watches as well as these, a Tag, a Bulova, 3 Omega and 1 more Rolex GMT in TT. All the watches are quite sporty. All that's missing is something on a leather/dressy strap. Your suggestions would be appreciated.
