Bring a Loupe: A Selection Of Vintage Chronographs, Including A Rare Rolex 'Pre-Daytona,' A Heuer Skipper And A Universal Geneve Tri-Compax
This week, vintage watches are back in full force. In this Bring A Loupe you will find some heavy hitters, starting with a coveted Rolex "Pre-Daytona" with a black dial. Also expect to see an outstanding Heuer Skipper, an original Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic, and an unusual Type 20 from an unexpected source. Finally, a great Universal Geneve Tri-Compax just came back on eBay, but maybe not for the better. This is your Bring A Loupe for March 25, 2016. How do I sync. the seconds on a Speedmaster?
Hi all,I am the proud owner of a new cal. 1861 Speedmaster Pro. 50th Anniversary. The manual states: ...synchronize the seconds by pushing the crown back to position 1 to coincide with a given time signal. The problem is, when I pull the crown to position 2, the seconds dial does not stop. If I turn the crown counterclockwise, the seconds go back a bit and *sometimes* stops...but when I turn the crown clockwise again to adjust the hours/minutes, the seconds resume (even when in position 2).How are you guys syncing your seconds?(I am trying to set my watch to the time.gov website.)Thanks!
Does the 5496p-001 (silver dial) have the Spiromax balance spring?
I see on Patek's website that the 5496p-014 (honey brown dial) has the Spiromax balance spring, but I can't seem to confirm if the 5496p-001 (discontinued silver dial) has it as well. Does anyone know? Are there any (other) updates in the 5496p-014 vs. the 5496p-001?Many thanks in advance.
