Question regarding changing out strap 42mm ROO
Hey guys, i would like to replace the oem leather with rubber strap. I believe the width is 28mm and the buckle is 18mm correct? Would a 44mm ROO strap be interchangeable? Because they're 28mm throughout I don't like the narrow look of the oem leather. My local AD sent me this picture. Would I need to get a new buckle? Also go oem rubber or aftermarket? Does anyone know what the price of the oem rubber cost? Thanks for the help
Planet Ocean GMT Platinum
I was at the OMEGA Boutique in South Coast Plaza and saw this:First time I ever heard of the PO GMT Platinum. Platinum case with platinum deployant clasp..omegawatches/press/pr...se-detail/2512Anyway, I thought it was pretty interesting. $95K USD.
Boutique Visit
stopped into the Vancouver Omega boutique yesterday. Was looking at the new Planet Ocean LM. They only had one in stock for $5800. I was so tempted, thankfully the wife dragged me out before I pulled out my wallet. Wish I had taken some wrist shots. It is so shiny and I think nicer than the original. Also, took a look at the PloProf for comparison. What a heavy block of steel that is. Salesperson was nice enough to point out that the bracelet is shark proof, lol too bad my arm isn't. They wanted $9800 for the PloProf. A bit high for my tastes and a little to large on the wrist.
5711 vs 5712 can someone experienced please elaborate?
I've been searching for the impossible to find 5711 and was offered several opportunities to order a 5712. I wanted to ask the experts here what the primary differences are between the 5711 and 5712 besides aesthetics. The date and seconds hand have their own dials on the 5712 and a power reserve can be seen on a dial. There is a moon phase but it seems like that is the only functional difference between the two watches. Can someone educate me on any other major differences I'm missing? (Difference in movement, power reserve, etc.)
Common up-charge for an AD to send watch to RSC?
Is it common in your area for an AD to charge a lot more to send a watch for RSC to repair? When I was buying my BLNR the other day a guy walked in and said his watch didn't work. The lady said they could send to RSC but he minimum charge if it was just a basic service was $1,250 on his Submariner. I couldn't believe my ears!
