Audemars Piguet Royal Oak OffShore Wempe Scuba Watch Available On JamesList.com
This is an interesting limited edition watch that combines everything I like about diving themed watches and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak lines of watches. Bearing the name of "Wempe," a? line of luxury watch stores strategically placed all over the world, this limited edition of 175 watches is rare and very cool. This watch was created in honor of Wempe's 100th anniversary. The iconic eight sided octagonal Royal Oak watch bezel was never the type of design that was good for a rotating bezel - so Audemars Piguet inserted an internal bezel that resolved the problem of not having a round bezel. The internal uni-directionally rotating bezel is operated via the crown positioned at 10 o'clock. The case is 44mm wide and steel. A rose gold version was also available, but was not as good a value costing 2-3 times the price of this version. I also feel that this is one of the purest modern versions of the Royal Oak watch based on the original Gerald Genta design classic from the 1970s. There i
Anyone else feel that the stem/crown is too flimsy?
I have an ss diver and 44 steel and both stems/crowns feel extremely flimsy and fragile when I pull them out to set the time... Almost like the stem is way too thin and the crown is barely attached to it. Anyone else feels the same way? Feels a bit too fragile to me... None of my other watches feel like this on the stem/crown.
Advice on selling my reference 5055
I have a 5055, white gold, black face, deployment buckle that I want to sell. It definitely needs a polishing and the strap needs to be replaced. Would you recommend having it polished and changing the strap if sell it to a AD? Or am I wasting money making the watch look new again as a dealer realizes exactly what needs to be done to get the watches appearance back up to snuff. Also, if anyone could point me in the direction of any dealers that I could contact for a possibly sale. Thanks in advance.
Tudor North Flag - Flop?
Is it safe to Tudor North Flag is not a popular model? Whenever Tudor has a recent release from Black Bay Red, Black Bay Blue, Pelagos - Black and Blue and now Black Bay Black.. we seen too much excitement over it and lot of incoming threads. With the recent release of BBB, Tudor has outdone itself and the numerous incoming threads itself shows the story that its going to be very successful model. So, after the relaunch of Tudor - all the models (BBB, Pelagos, Heritage Chrono and Chronograph) are sold to an extent but I don't see that happening with North Flag. It is difficult to prefer it even in Tudor brand alone and then it has to compete with similar priced watches (lower end Omega, etc) and its going to be a difficult battle to win. So, what do you guys this? Will North Flag will be successful? Or will eventually will be stopped after few years of production?
