Swarovski Octea Abyssal Automatic Watch
For the last few years I have really admired the collection of watches from Swarovski. They offered nicely designed quartz watches with a lot of cool personality and prices that aren't totally outrageous. The only problem was that they were all ladies watchesbummer. My favorite model was the Octea Sport. Last year, I heard a rumor that Swarovski was going to release new men's watches - it turned out to be true. For 2012, Swarovski gets three new watch families, all for men. My favorite is the Octea Abyssal Automatic - which is essentially a male version of the Octea Sport that is a super-looking watch for women. The toughest thing that these watches have going for them is the Swarovksi swan logo. You see it on the dial, on the crown, and on the case back. I guess the logo can grow on you, but it isn't very masculine - not that it was ever designed to be.When Chanel first released the J12 they likely had the same issuewhere men simply could not take men's Chanel watches seriously. Pita Barcelona Oceana Diver's Watch: Sounds Delicious, Looks Great
Doesn't Pita Barcelona sound like a hip new Middle Eastern and Spanish fusion cuisine restaurant? Sounds yummy. Actually it isn't even edible (darn, but good restaurant idea), but it is rather a spectacular watch brand. Today you'll hear about my favorite watch in their line, the Oceana Diver. This watch just has so much character I am overwhelmed with desire for it. Really.. let me tell you why you should like it too. Oh, and I don't think it has been officially released yet - they have been working on it for a while, getting it just right. The good news is that the watch is supposed to eventually be available in a host of materials and a few colors (highly customizable). Thus, someone could be having this watch in steel, another in a various shade of gold, and still another person might have a platinum Oceana. The watch will also be available in titanium. Interestingly enough the dial, hands, and strap are all customizable as well. There isn't a list of all the available options yet,
Any love for the white dial Nautilus?
Most Nautilus owners and enthusiasts love the blue dial and it is a nice rich blue color. My first Nautilus was a blue dial, and although it does not get much wrist time anymore, it was and will be a classic watch. However is there any love for the white dial Nautilus? With its reduced popularity, are people seeing lower AD prices and secondary market prices?
5726 or 5167?
Hi all, I am considering in some time, probably before summer, changing my Daytona 116515 either for a 5726 on bracelet with grey dial or a 5167 in SS.It would be number 3 with a 5712 and a Hulk.Of course the price difference is very big between the 2, and I am wondering if a 5712 and 5726, both on bracelet, is not too similar. If I didn't have the 5712 I would not hesitate 1 second and go for the 5726, the AC and moon phase make it perfect IMO as a useful complications Patek, whereas the 5712 is an original and funky dial watch with basically useless complications but I love it.I tried the 5167 but in RG, stunning but can't justify the huge price difference just for RG.I chose the 5712 over the 5711 because as my first and maybe only Patek I wanted complications, but as a 2nd I can see the 5167 fitting nicely in a trio, as I have decided for some time already that I won't have more than 3-4 pieces. All the posts I read say how the Aquanaut is incredibly comfortable, which I can imagine
Make sense to buy abroad?
I am traveling in India and noticed there is a boutique nearby. If I go in and find a SS would it make sense to buy? It would be a nice souvenir from the trip, but I am not sure what import duties would be to the US. Does anyone have experience with this?
