Sinn 857 Watch
I just got finished using a German proxy server to trick Sinn's website into thinking I was viewing it from their homeland. Why did I do this? To get the price of this new 857 collection watch for you. Sinn apparently uses geo-locating to protect their prices from being viewed by potential buyers outside of Germany. Probably because those prices vary from country to country. Nevertheless, I am still going to tell you the prices as that is only fair.To my knowledge Sinn hasn't hard-launched the new 857 and 857 S watch collection yet. Though, the pieces are right up there on their website. These are a more simple version of the existing 857 UTC models which contained a small central GMT hand. What the 857 really is however is an upgraded and larger version of the 657 and 657 S - a watch I proudly own but simply do not wear any longer as it is too small. Overall the 857 is going to be a very solid seller for Sinn based on its design and upgraded features over the 657 family. The 857 and 85
Paul Newman Ltd Edition 1957 Panda Dial
So the Paul Newman reference is a headline grabber but I thought I'd share some pics of my latest find...It's a Japanese market only Ltd Edition Speedmaster Date reference 323.30.40.40.02.001Saw this little beauty and couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab it. A limited edition to 2009 pieces only and this one was NOS in the box. Despite being a safe queen, after a full wind and a few days of running, it is within COSC at -1.8/day which is pretty amazing I think.I love the Panda Dial on this one. In bright light it's almost pure white, but in subdued indoor lighting the dial takes on the appearance of a beautiful creamy colour.I'd never seen one of these before this one and this was one of those rare examples we sometimes come across where the decision to pull the trigger and buy it needed little to no thought. It's a 40mm case and wears a little small compared to the usual watches in my rotation, but still looks great on my 7 wrist.I'm not usually a fan of chronometers but the speedy
I have been wanting a PO since I laid
eyes on them a few years ago, but after going and trying on a few over the weekend, I know that I have have one very soon. I thought the 45.5 would be overwhelming on my wrist, but it wasn't. So please post up some PO XL wrist shots.
Patek Philippe price increase confirmed?
Assume this is common knowledge or otherwise a crafty ploy by the PP AD (UK based) to encourage a sale but my friend has been on the waiting list for a PP 5960/1A and was informed his watch would be ready to collect from 1 February. On enquiry of a discount he received the following reply (word for word, purchaser and sales rep names removed for privacy reasons).Hi XXXXX,The list price is still the same at the moment,There is going to be a price increase soon , we re not sure of dates yet.The price will be 36,920 .Unfortunately because of the increase and the demand for this watch we are unable to offer discount. If you would like to pass on this watch at the present time we can allow the watch to the next person on our list. Please let me know your thoughtsBestXXXXX
214270 with leather strap...yay or nay?
I've had this Everest strap for a few months. I tried it out when I bought it and thought it was ok, but didn't love it. So I stuck with the bracelet. We are going to Sicily in a few weeks for vacation and kinda want to make the watch a bit more subtle for our travels...so I thought I'd try out the leather again. I'd like to get some opinions. I think I'm where I was before: I like it...don't love it. And, at first, the bracelet is far more comfortable (to me). But I think to make the watch a bit more casual for the trip it'll work.
