Watches NEWS
New strap for summer!
I just changed the black rubber strap to the white. The watch pops alot more now.
AP's annual production
I know the figure of 20,000 watches a year has been bandied about for AP. A far cry lower than the ~ 800/900K produced by Rolex. On the now discontinued 15300 and current 15400...anyone have a SWAG at how many of these are produced per year by AP?Apologies if this has been asked before.
Finally found the PERFECT Speedy Pro strap
I've gone thru maybe a half dozen strap/bracelets and I've found a bunch that are great. Notably, the older style bracelet from Otto frei and a gasgasbones nylon strap, both for that authentic moon/nasa look. That said, I've finally found the killer app for me. It was just an ebay seller that had good reviews and made his own custom straps. The side stitches and ash grey/black leather are perfect. The leather is thick and has that creasy look that gives a weathered look, without actually artificially weathering the leather, if that makes sense. It helps that it happens to fit perfectly. Which Model for Anniversary?
My wife wants to surprise me with a nice gift for our 10 year anniversary as well as a memento for a job transition. I think the 5524g might be the perfect Patek for me. It would be my first and I'd really like to get one with a GMT as I travel often and will be flying for the airlines. The only other options I know of would be either the Nautilus or Aquanaut with UTC function. To all those here with Patek knowledge and experience, would you go with the 5524g or another option?
PAM689 and THAT blue dial
A beautiful start to the day here in Siem Reap so why not wear a beautiful watch to breakfast. Rude not to. But Ruud did do Here's a couple of shots of that incredible blue dial which I hope you like (Apologies for the multiple posts but I can't do it any other way from an iOS device)
