AP RO strap conversion question
So I've read thru a number of threads about adding a strap to your RO and the options. Here's what I've done and my questions.I have the RO Day and Date, which I love by the way! Bought the conversion kit from APBands along with a black strap. The plots took a lot of coercion to get in and that made me quite nervous but worked in the end. The strap I received looks great from a distance but the quality is not what I'd like. Also, the deployant buckle doesn't really work, doesn't match the watch closely, etc. Net - I want something more fitting for the watch.I spoke to the AP boutique in NYC and they can sell me the following:- black alligator strap w/ white stitch (spc order) 26.5 / 18 (I believe these are the rt dimensions per another thread)- SS deployant buckle They have told me they do NOT sell plots for the RO, presumably b/c they come with the watches that OEM straps are made for (precious metals). New Member Intro - Vintage question
I introduced myself yesterday on the Rolex side, and figured I would do the same today for Omega. Name in Ted, 33 years old and live in San Diego, CA. Here is my collection... I seem to prefer vintage over new. I have acquired these 2 vintage Omega pieces, anything you can tell me about them would be helpful. I have tried to find info on them, or similar watches on the net, but haven't come up with too much. Thanks in advance for any info! Look forward to being able to contribute to this forum in the future.

Which 3970 would you buy and why?
Do Rolex dials fade from the sun?
I own a 116619LB (WG Sub blue matte dial) Is there risk of the dial fading due to excessive sun exposure?
Modern vs Vintage (submariner)
I am looking into getting a new watch, and was told to look into getting a vintage ss sports watch.I was never really keen on vintage (I'm using pre-ceramic as a reference), I always preferred the weight and size of the modern watches(ceramic), but I have told numerous times vintage ss sports watches are better. Is their an objective reasoning that many argue vintage is better than modern? Are the movements better, more durable, more reliable?
