Going rate- Patek Philippe 5167R Aquanaut Rose Gold
Can anyone tell me what the current market is for a new and a used Patek Philippe 5167R Aquanaut Rose Gold is?Considering a purchase but normally buy Rolex. Don't have a feel for the market on Pateks. Thanks.
PAM 372 documents.
I noticed yesterday that the certificate booklet that comes with my used 372 refers to a Radiomir Black Seal on its cover. Should I be concerned?Everything else is perfect. The inside of the booklet looks correct with the case and movement numbers matching and refers to model 372. There is the name of the original purchaser and the stamp of the Panerai boutique where it was originally purchased. It's only the cover that is incorrect. The movement stickers are also present and tie in with movement number. The original cardboard outer box is also present with the correct code. And the watch itself is perfect. I also bought from a reputable dealer who has good feedback on Chrono24 and from whom I have bought before. But I'm paranoid as there are some very good fakes around with fake documents. On the other hand it makes no sense for someone to make such a good fake and then put the name of the wrong watch on the booklet so I am inclined to think there is some mundane reason for this discr
Rolex, more than just time. Obviously.
What are we really paying for?(Apologies, if this is an 'old chestnut' of a post).But. I was wondering how many of us here, actually use the added functions of our Rolexes? How many of us, wearing a Yachtmaster, GMT, Daytona, Milgaus ,et al, make use of their full capabilities?I have travelled across various time zones and found it easier to change the position of the hands on my GMT, rather than figure out the correct, relevant position of the bezel etc. So. What ARE we paying for, beyond a reliable, sturdy movement in a nice, tight case? Are all those extra, albeit, beautifuly designed and sculpted features just a personal fashion/style statement? I suppose I've just answered my own question! There will be many amongst us on this BRILLIANT, helpfull, knowledgeable and friendly forum that, sail yachts,
The argument for one watch
This probably won't be a popular opinion, but I'm struggling with having just one Rolex. I've had up to three at a time, but am down to a 114060. It's special to me. I look at it, and the symmetry makes me happy. I also where it 24/7. In some way, it has memories to times with my kids. I could buy almost any other Rolex. It's not a matter of money. I'm again eying a GMT, but does that diminish or dilute what I've had thus far? In some ways, yes.
