Arnold & Son Adds 3 New Versions of the UTTE
Spring has sprung, and with it new colors are everywhere. Arnold & Son has given us a spring of its own: the La Chaux-de-Fonds brand just introduced three new variations on its renowned UTTE model. Here’s a look at the new hues and materials Arnold & Son has on offer. Arnold & Son created great buzz in 2013 when it launched the UTTE C a name that stands for “Ultra-Thin Tourbillon Escapement.” In fact, you could say that the UTTE was a major part of Arnold’s rise to prominence as a small, high-end Swiss brand. The UTTE movement is something to behold: it’s just 2.97 mm thick. Cased up, the watch is still only 8.34 mm thick. It has a 42-mm-wide case and a dial that leaves plenty of open space so you can admire the workings of its flying tourbillon, which rises above of the dial at 6 o’clock.Until now, the UTTE has only been available with lighter, engraved dials: a guilloch, for instance, or a wave pattern. Now Arnold & Son is introduc
Bring a Loupe: An Untouched Omega Speedmaster, An Unusual Breitling, And Other Interesting Finds (Including A Vulcain Cricket That Might Have Belonged To President Truman)
This week, you followed all the exciting SIHH novelties live from Geneva; today, Bring A Loupe returns with some really gorgeous vintage watches – or vintage-inspired, in the case of my favorite Grand Seiko. You will notably discover how a Speedmaster looked when it was sold in 1971, and admire a nicely preserved Movado. I have also found an intriguing bullhead watch from Breitling, and a not-so-great medical chronograph from Universal Geneve. This is your Bring A Loupe for January 22, 2016. An Omega Speedmaster Reference 145.022, NOS From 1971 1 OF 14 Finding an untouched example is a recurrent fantasy for watch collectors – probably not as frequent as a time-travel machine to stock up on vintage references, but not far off. Here, this Omega Speedmaster reference 145.022 follows this time-capsule logic: it was purchased in the UK back in 1971 and left in the box since, to the point that the bracelet links are imprinted on the watch holder. As you would
SM300 Project
Hi All,First post on this forum, but I wanted to share a project in the works with you guys. I was a little late to the SM300 WatchCo party and as such I unable to obtain a NOS no-date version of the SM300. Therefore, I have sourced the pieces independently. Heres a pic of some of the parts which have come in. Will share more pictures as the watch is assembled by my watchmaker. Cheers,Warren

The 5167a comes as standard with a black rubber strap. I see there's also a green strap on a special edition, and possibly a brown strap available as well?Has anyone got photos of their steel 5167 on these straps? Thanks
Cellini Pricing - what's fair?
Happy New Year, everyone! So, I'm particularly fond of the rose gold, black lacquer Cellini - ref 50505 - but of course cannot stomach paying MSRP for it, which is around 15,000 USD. I've looked and looked and what I find online is somewhat bizarre. Essentially, everyone offering the piece for sale, be it gray market or pre-owned, wants something in the 9000-12000 USD range, but almost all the watch pricing aggregator sites swear that it's value is closer to 4000-8000 tops (NIB). I am having a hell of a time trying to figure out what's fair to offer to sellers...thoughts on this one?
