Hands-On: With The Jaquet Droz Grande Heure GMT, With Two Hands And Two Timezones (Live Pics & Pricing)
This is a different kind of travel watch. Instead of the usual second hour hand or extra timezone disk augmenting a two or three hand configuration, Jaquet Droz has done away with all but two hands. Each tells the time on a single 24-hour scale, encouraging a more relaxed interpretation of the time. This is a travel watch designed for the gentleman on a leisurely vacation who only needs subtle reminders of about what time it is, not the man keeping a schedule to the second. With a watch that is this simple on the surface, the key is executing the details properly. And Jaquet Droz has done an admirable job here, making sure the small things are handled well. 2 OF 14 The Grande Heure GMT's asymmetrical hand geometry This starts with the shapes of the two hands. To ensure that both are legible even when they are close to one another, the broad bases have the extended tips offset asymmetrically. This means that when they are "overlapping," there is actually
Came into a speedmaster auto reduced, got a question.
Hey guys picked up a speedmaster automatic ( i hope reduced is correct) and the store owner didnt know much about it. Im assuming that it isnt water proof considering the crown and case back both do not screw down.. is this true? If so, exactly what would be the water resistance level of the speedmaster 'reduced' 5atm? 30? 50? Anyways thanks guys.
Fed up
I (still, but for how long?) have a good job, a good family, a good life and good health. I can indulge in some of the finer things in life. I'm a TRF bastid . What could one ask for more?Well..... To be the proprietor of a small caf in Ericeira, Portugal. Or to live in Malang, Indonesia. As our daughter is about to 'leave the nest', Anne and myself are contemplating such a move ever more and ever more seriously. Our country is changing rapidly and I must say, not to the good. To put it bluntly, we are fed up with it.We feel stangled by all the rules, suffocated by the ever rising taxes and lack of compasion. Tax free day starts here on the 27th of July. Insane! Although it probably will remain a pipe dream, I can't get it out of my head. So, are there any other esteemed TRF members that sometimes have the same thoughts?
240Q wouldn't wind on my winder
Hi peeps, wanted to seek some insight as to this problem I'm having with my 5327-G on my wolf roadster which is a vertical winder. When I first purchased this watch I placed it on the winder at ccw 800tpd and it worked perfect. However after about 6 months I noticed my watch started dying on the winder at the exact same winder setting. I've worn it on my wrist for days and it seems to keep perfect time. However once it's on the winder it dies in a few days. This is really frustrating me as it used to work perfectly on the winder. Anyone facing the same issue with 240Q calibre?Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

I am thinking of acquiring Patek ref 5204p-011. An authorized Patek dealer in Switzerland has a wait of 1 to 2 years. Is it advisable to pay a down payment or full price now with the understanding that the price may be different at the time of delivery.
