Watches NEWS
RGM Launches the First USA Series-Made Tourbillon
RGM Watch Company announces the launch of America’s first serially-produced tourbillon movement, the Caliber MM 2 “Pennsylvania Tourbillon”. The company’s new flagship mechanical movement will be produced by hand at its Lancaster, Pennsylvania facility and it will power a small, numbered series of watches available both as a standard model and as custom-ordered pieces.Housed in a 43mm x 12mm case of either steel or 18k gold, the movement presents a symphony of layers and textures, showcasing many great elements of traditional watchmaking practiced by RGM. Finely polished components share space with brushed elements and perlage. Wheel cocks borrow their shape from the RGM 801 in-house caliber introduced in 2008, and from classic American movements of yesteryear. The spokes of the wheels continue this theme. A 7-tooth click and winding wheels with wolf's teeth are immersed in plates with subtle striped damaskeening. The movement is made of the finest quality tradi
Gustafsson & Sj?gren Blizzard and Aurora Watches Are So "Metal"
Everyone's favorite metal working watch makers Gustafsson & Sj?gren (GoS) are back with two new watch models. The line continues to evolve in a conservative manner (aside from the Damascus steel that is). Patrik Sj?gren and Johan Gustafsson have found that their customers prefer more classically styled watches - who'd have thought? It is actually true though. There is a tendency for us watch lovers to enjoy reading about wild timepieces, but when it comes down to it we want to wear something more conservative. Does this observation fit with your habits?I previously discussed the G0S Dragon watch, where you can look for a bit more details about the brand. GoS are essentially fine metal workers who still have a robust shop making blades. Because the popularity of the artistic metal work lends itself to other fine creations (and because lots of knife and sword lovers also like watches), their talents with metal apply to watches well. As such, GoS makes some of the most wonderfully art

5167 Bracelet Question
I have decided that the 5167 is the right Patek for me. I have been going back and forth between the 5167 and the 5711, but had never seen the 5711 in person. My local dealer called yesterday to tell me he had a 5711 that just came in and I could have it if it spoke to me. I went to see it and I am happy to say liked the dial on the 5167 better. I am glad I had this opportunity, it confirms my decision. The dealer has the 5167 in stock with the bracelet, and said that he would give me the rubber strap and deployment at no charge if I went with the bracelet version. My question is to those that have the 5167, have you ever wished you had the bracelet, is it worth the extra $3,000.
