Watches NEWS
A winder question...
Hi guys.Lately I have been struggling with the way I am handling my precious AP's. I have them all displayed on a winder and they look great. But, Is this the way to go?I have heard a lot of stories regarding the winder pro vs cons, but I really dont know what to make of all the info thats out there. The only thing that I can see positive from a winder, aside of having your watch ready, is the fact that you can break them in. Sometimes you will not be able to determine if something is wrong with your watch the first year if you just wear them occasionally. The other thing is, although having the motor running all the time, might shorten the watch life span, wouldn't it be the same for the crown? I have seen horror stories of loose crowns etc. since they have to be manipulated on a constant basis. What do you guys think? Can you guys give me a little piece of mind?
New Pro Diver III strap and deployant
Woohoo, my new Pro Diver III rubber strap and deployant was just delivered for my Superocean. Here are two pictures from when I purchased it, at a presale event.Sizing on my Steelfish, love the micro adjustment in the clasp for added comfort. The Breitling Diver Pro III rubber strap was introduced in 2013 and marks the return to the raised hershey style lettering that made the original Diver Pro strap so iconic and popular. The new raised letter is different, however, and has the complete Breitling text on each side of the strap, with the last 4 letters LING being recessed rather than raised.Introduced at the same time with this strap was the new Blacksteel Deployant Buckle.Going to give a rubber strap a try after my reluctance on previous watches, the cost of entry on this piece was very low to test out. And I feel this will be a great combo for the beach in the future as I can take my bergeron tool with me to change from the bracelet.
Just Arrived: My first Patek....Yes, it's an another....
5167I'm at the next phase of my horological experience or WISdom. What's better than to celebrate with a Patek! Here are a few quick observation from wearing it for the last 6 hours:+40mm on 7 1/2 wrist = Perfection!+The chameleon black/grey dial is unreal. Must have looked at the dial over 100 times today but still don't know what time it is.+The swooshing sound from the rotor is music to my ears.+Is it strange that I was smelling the strap during a meeting?+I can forget the Surefire flashlight. The lume will be sufficient to light my way in the dark.+Already have small scratch on the bezel. Hallelujah, now that's over with I can enjoy this watch. Every watch should come pre-scratched!
Incoming...a first diver's and a first Tudor!
Not that I go diving. I don't even know how to swim. But I think would be great for Florida- soon to be home! This is what someone would call an impulse buy. But love it. My first Tudor and pretty impressed by the qaulity. Being the sister company, the box design is the same as Rolex! The snowflake hands might take a while getting used to. But the bronze case and the leather strap looks and feels awesome! Gives it that vintage look. The brown bezel is great. The inner case ring has this copper sublte copper tone to it, which makes it unique. The quality of the watch is comparable to the Rolex. Except it doesn't has those little things. Overall a great watch and value for money and something completely different. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using Tapatalk
AD recommendations in Louisiana...
Hello everyone. I'm new to the Rolex world and have been doing a bit of research. I would like to begin building a relationship with a local AD. I'm looking for recommendations in Louisiana and possibly the Dallas Fort Worth area as well as Austin Texas. I'm in DFW and Austin 4-6 times a year. New Orleans and Baton Rouge are a short ride away as well. Has anyone dealt with anyone in particular that they would recommend? I'll be purchasing an 116610LN within the next few weeks. Heading down to New Orleans this weekend and intend on visiting a few ADs there. Thanks for any help.
