Watches NEWS
Maybe this will help
Argh on the watch fates! So I had put a few feelers out a while ago to see if I could acquire a Bee. Haven't heard from anyone and now as I recently posted, my wife wants me to pull the trigger on a RG RC so have just started to look for one.In the meantime, of course I get an email from a friend of a friend who just acquired a new Bee for himself but told me I could have it if I wanted since he has too many watches (there is no such thing) and offered it to me for a great price. My wife doesn't really care which one although her preference is the RG of course. They are sooooo different it's an apple and orange comparison so it's hard to compare them and no, I'm not going to buy both at the moment so it's a one or the other choice. Why did he have to email me....
Vintage Constellation update - I did it
For those of you that helped my and gave me good guidance..i went ahead and pulled the trigger on this on instead:1963 - $1200I know it's on the high side but according to the seller * He thinks it's a one owner watch that was sitting in a drawer * He says it's the original dial unpainted * He thinks it's the original acrylic crystal because there is some Omega thing etched in it (is this what was done then?) * It is my birth year * He said it came in with a gold bracelet but advised the guy that they would never be able to sell it with a gold bracelet due to the price so they sold that separate * I have 14 days return Seems like a plausible story-seller seems like a good seller, very open - answered every question Here are some pics I would appreciate it if you guys could help me authenticate it and get your opinion. Also if anyone has a reference check on Inlandtime in Spokane WashingtonThanks
Seamaster of Sea of Cortez
The Omega in its natural element. The last fellow here did not seem interested in telling time by any means.
5119J or 5119G?
Hi guys,Which one of these 5119 would you choose and why? I hear that 5119J is in more demand. Is it simply because it is cheaper? Which one is more wearable? I do like 5119G very much but I am concerned that it might look too boring.Appreciate your response.
Are Today's Rolexes Overpriced?
All things considered and taking into account that there are many outstanding watches in the -$5K range. Some attribute the exorbitant pricing to Rolex SA's extensive and costly marketing program. Others say one is strictly paying for the name and visual recognition. At one time, a Rolex was affordable (for those who really wanted one) by either being frugal or eliminating other miscellaneous/unnecessary expenditures. It's a seemingly different story today as $8-10K+ represents a bigger chunk of change even when accounting for current inflation and higher salaries/wages.A co-worker bought his 1675 back in the mid-1970s while working at a minimum wage job (about $2.00/hour). It took him roughly six weeks + some overtime to accrue the necessary funds. Today at minimum wage (e.g. $5.50/Georgia to $11.50/Washington), it would take close to a year's wages (and that's not even allowing for basic living expenses).Over the past few decades, Rolexes have become an 'elitist' commodity rather than
