Introducing the Squale Master
Squale came to Basel this year ready to impress. If you're not familiar with the brand, I recommend you check out our review of their Ref 2002 watch. If the look alone of that watch doesn't tell you this brand is different than others, then their rich history will. Squale is one of those brands that everyone ought to know, as they were pioneers in dive watch case manufacturing in the 50's, 60's and 70's, and now continue to make beautiful, original Swiss-made divers, at very accessible prices. The first thing they showed us is a new family of watches, based on a line from the 60's called the Master. These 600m divers have 44mm cases, power reserves, 12 o'clock dates and a cool vintage style. The bezels have to be seen in person to be truly appreciated, but they are made in an anachronistic fashion for a gorgeous outcome. They are essentially bakelite bezels with dimensional steel inlays on top. This is then all sealed in with acrylic (presumably) to create a flat top surface. As with th
Sooo, where to go to find an AP?
Hey guys! Had a question for you....I live outside of Pittsburgh, PA and wondered if you had any advice on where to go to browse/try on some AP watches. As far as I know, there isn't anywhere close to me. Should I tie this in to a trip to NYC? Any advice? Thanks in advance!
39mm AP ROC Panda dial help needed...
A friend of mine want to get an AP ROC (39mm) and really like the White panda dial, It look REALLY great on these Pics when the dial is more crisp white....But not really as great on these, where the dial is alot more silvercolor -imho of course...So wich of these pics are most true, is it more White than silver?
Omega Speedmaster Lunar Dust
One of the new Omega 2014 novelties: .watch-insider/news/ba...ega-novelties/Apparently it's called the Omega Speedmaster Lunar Dust. Going to cost about the same as the Dark Side of The Moon. I have a sneaky suspicion Omega is gunning to do a new ceramic Speedmaster each year, now that they've got the ability to produce a nicely finished ceramic case with pushers etc. I love my DSOTM.Max
Early 1990s Gold Submariner Question
I have my father's N serial number gold submariner which he purchased new from an AD in January, 1993. Several years ago, I took it to an AD to have the bracelet sized and they told me that the bracelet was fake because it had push pins instead of screws. My brother also took it to an AD for sizing years ago, and was told the same thing. I have all the paperwork from the purchase, as well as the warranty certificate. I generally despise AD's and the mouthbreathers that usually work there. So, I put it to the experts here. Did Rolex ever use push pins on their gold submariner bracelets?
