Movement Hands-On Series Episode 1: MB&F HM6 Space Pirate
With this?article, we are launching a new series of articles dedicated to?watch movements. In this irregular series, we will be looking at calibers that we consider to be?historically important, technically challenging and unique, or just quite simply fascinating. Today, we begin with a very close and detailed look at the?movement beating inside?the brand new?MB&F HM6 Space Pirate. We need to point out that in this series, all our attention will be dedicated to the movement (which we will always look at uncased,?and not through a sapphire case back),?and we will?not go into a detailed?discussion related to?the concept behind the watch in question C as you will always be able to (re-)acquaint yourselves with it in our original hands-on articles. Event Recap: An Evening With Bremont Watch Company And The New Supermarine S2000
Last week we spent an evening with Bremont Watch Company at New York City's Ace Hotel to give HODINKEE readers a closer look at the new Supermarine S2000. Bremont Co-Founder Nick English was on-hand to answer questions over drinks and hors d'oeuvres, along with a massive collection of Bremont watches.?We already gave you a closer look at the S2000, but there is nothing like speaking with the man behind the watch. Nick English treated our guests to a brief presentation explaining the history of Bremont, his family's deep connection with aviation and performance engineering, and what drives him to create Bremont watches.?Please enjoy the above video and photos from last week's festivities. We hope you see you at the next HODINKEE event. 1 OF 7 2 OF 7 3 OF 7 4 OF 7 5 OF 7 6 OF 7 7 OF 7
Rubber B straps for RO...
Not sure if this is common news but Rubber B is now carrying rubber straps for the Royal Oaks. I'm not sure what to make of it...on one hand it's cool to have the extra option but on the other, the RO is all about the bracelet and since it's not water resistant the rubber strap doesn't make as much sense.Anyone have one or plan to try one?
Ceramic ROOs
I would be interested to see how a Panda Ceramic ROO would look like. Which ROO model would you purchase in a ceramic version?
Daytona on oysterflex
I was shopping around for my son that's seven weeks out of being born and of course i told my wife let's swing by the Rolex store and once we got to the store i spotted the yellow gold oysterflex Daytona. She immediately gave me the death stare as I tried it on and my goodness this watch is a beauty!! Blew my expectations away. The weight was amazing and the oysterflex is so comfy. I was extremely close of pulling the trigger but my wife's stare was well more than enough to tell me NO lol. This piece will soon be in my collection just need to warm the wife up to the idea haha.
