an oldie seamaster
picked up this oldie (but a goodie) seamaster today; love the seconds sub-dial (1951 - keeps great time for a 60 year old watch!)
SMP America's Cup?
I visited a watch dealer today and found one of these on display. It wasn't in the best condition, but not bad at all. The bezel had a few scratches as does the bracelet (which can easily be polished out). All the papers/box are included. The guy was willing to trade me with my newly aquired 2254.50 plus 500$. I love the chrono and I like this even more because it's the America's Cup Edition. The dial looks better with it. om135.jpgShould I go for it?
PAM 372 Strap
Hi, all.I am a first time poster looking for some info. I have wanted a Panerai since first seeing one in the 90's/early 2000's. I bought my first real watch 10 years ago, Rolex Sub, and am now ready to purchase another for my 40th b-day. I am drawn to the 112 and 372, but am leaning toward the 372. One thing is I really do not like the strap offered on the new models. I absolutely love the darker brown strap that was offered on the early models. Is it possible to still buy that strap from Panerai or do they only make them for the watch and discontinue after they move to a new strap offering. I do see that there are many after market straps that are awesome, but I would like to have the original from Panerai.I appreciate any response!
Toshi Strap
So I'm relatively new to the Panerai scene, but already love the ease of swapping straps! I love the various browns people use and think they suit the vintage image of a Pam. There are lots of them however so I am feeling bold! Managed to get a lime green oem strap when I bought the watch and love it. After reading plenty reviews here and on various web sites I decided to order a Toshi Strap. I have started tame with light blue and brown stitching. The quality of the strap is the same, if not better than oem! I cannot recommend the starap enough. Very soft and supple from the outset, fits the watch great, and is very comfortable. Not a photographer as you can see, but being a petrol head I have taken a picture of my dream watch (real) next to one of my dream cars (sadly not real and only a model one!).[IMG][/IMG]
First post, first Rolex.
Please forgive the long post. I have been following this forum for almost a year, and following other well-known watch forums for at least double that. But this is my first post (of any kind) and it is to tell my watch story and commemorate my first real watch--a new Rolex Explorer 214270. I have enjoyed watches since I was a boy, and growing up had several quartz watches, admired a vintage Cartier Tank that my grandfather owned, and even had an engraved pocket watch in high school (needless to say I marched to my own drumbeat!). But I never could justify spending a lot of money on a nice mechanical watch until I felt more settled in life--and besides there were degrees to obtain (music and, ultimately, law), studies abroad (twice), mountains to climb (Kilimanjaro)...watches, as much as I loved them, were not a priority. Then, 8 years ago, as I am picking up my wife's engagement ring, the AD let's me have a little fun of my own--trying on some watches, including some amazing A. Lange &
