Richemont Announces Deal to Acquire Online Luxury Retailer Net-a-Porter.com
Compagnie Financire Richemont SA has announced that it will acquire online luxury retailer Net-a-Porter. Richemont purchased a 33% interest in Net-a-Porter in 2002, and in this deal Richemont will acquire the remaining shares. The transaction values Net-a-Porter at about $530 million. Net-a-porter sells expensive women’s clothes and accessories, offering collections from more than 300 leading designers. Net-a-porter was founded in 2000 by former fashion journalist Natalie Massenet, who will continue as executive chairwoman. The company delivers goods to 170 countries, and has been profitable since 2004. Net-a-Porter has over 600 employees with principal operation centers in London and New York. Last June, the company reported profits of $18.3 million on sales of $147.6 million for the year to January 31, 2009.Net-a-Porter founder Natalie MassenetAnalysts see Richemont’s move as an acknowledgment that consumers will buy very expensive goods online. Size matters help- ROO
Not unlike many on here I have a smaller wrist and trying to figure out if the ROO would be too large for my wrist. I wear suits at work so I think it best that I try one on before I buy. Thanks to David for the suggestion. As I live in southeastern VA there are no AD's around. Are there any forum members that live close that I could try one on or get comments from? Not trying to be presumptuous just looking for a little help. Thanks
AP ROC back from its Virgin Europe Trip
I was on a business trip to Europe for two weeks in September. Besides attending one of the biggest rail trade fair, Innotrans 2012, in Berlin, I also visited Munich and London. Works aside, the trip would not be completed without some sightseeing, as well as a once-in-a-lifetime experience to the Oktoberfest at its place of origin in Bavaria of Germany. With so many actions happening during the trip, I'm really pleased to say that my ROC, the only watch I brought along with me, has weathered extremely well as a competent and enjoyable travel companion. ================================================== =====================================A short review, or rather a sharing of impression, of my ROC 26300 White dial... It is fantastic and extremely enjoyable to wear! After owning it for two months, with an intensive traveling in Europe, I must say that the silvery dial, the masculine lines and the multitude of finely brushed and polished surfaces on the chronograph case and bracelet h
Omega seamaster Uss
New to Omega! Just got a a vintage USS omega seamaster(78) bought it for 150$ (Hopefully a good deal) it has the cal. 1010 movement which my watchmaker guy told me. I really don't care for the Uss logo since I didn't work there, do you guys think I should leave the dial be or swap it for another repainted eBay dial? Will that hurt the value?
How do I remove these spring pins?
OK, first time removing this kind of pins from a bracelet. I'm trying to remove the bracelet from the head so I can get it (bracelet) fixed. My pin removal tool is too wide to fit in this space (where the arrows are pointing in the pics). The narrow side of the tool fits (the end designed to press the pins in the deployant clasp) but that end isn't depressing the pins so I can remove the bracelet. Is there a trick to this? Please help.
