Time is Money: The 26 Richest Swiss Watch Barons
Each year the respected Swiss business magazine, Bilan, publishes a list of the 300 richest Swiss with a rough estimate of their fortunes. For this article?we examined the list for you to see which members of the watch industry made the ranking. Here they are:LANDOLT FAMILYSF6 C 7 billionMembers of the Landolt family own the Sandoz Family Foundation and are heirs to the fortune of Sandoz, the pharmaceutical giant now known as Novartis. The foundation is the majority shareholder in Parmigiani Fleurier and the manufacturing group MHF (Manufactures Horlogres de la Fondation), which includes Manufacture Vaucher.WERTHEIMER FAMILYSF6 C 7 billionBrothers Grard and Alain Wertheimer own Chanel SA and also have an investment in Bell & Ross.HAYEK FAMILYSF4 C 5 billionThe Hayeks own the single largest block of Swatch Group shares. Specs of Concord C1 chronograph wristwatch
The C1 was a case of 44 mm with a very rugged look. The rubber under the monitoring allows to absorb shocks and make shows more robust. There is a Sapphire thick 3.30 mm and a Crown of rubber, composite and steel. It has a Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute.
SHoudl I do it?
Wanted to get some opinions from the great minds of this sub-forum. Every beginning of the year, I get the itch to buy a new piece or trade something out. I got my Rolex SD43 last week and I thought it would hold me over, but it obviously didn't since I'm starting this thread.I was thinking about trading in my RG44 for a ROC RG 26331 blue dial. The ROC picture is a random photo from the net. The 44RG photo is my actual watch.I am still awaiting the arrival of my blue dial SS Skydweller sometime in the next two months. Would another blue dial be redundant? What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.
What is your dream ROO spec?
What do you want to see AP produce? Which ROO would you buy today if it was available? What is your perfect spec?I want to see a 44mm ROO with a new in-house chronograph movement, RG case, Cermet bezel and an open worked dial. But I will probably buy the first ROO with a cermet bezel and an updated movement regardless of size or case material.
AP repair process
Hi guys...I wanted to share my experience with getting my ROO repairedI purchased my new ROO about 9 months ago. It stopped keeping time well, so I took it to my local AD. They said they needed to send it to AP. Long story short, they said that I had compression damage to the watch that voided the warranty so it would cost me 2k to fix it. I said fine (not happy but what can I do)...I took the watch in on 5/30/13. I called today to see when it would be ready (i was first told beg of august, then end of aug) and they told me now that it would be ready in mid-september!!!!!!!!Over 3 months to fix a watch????!!!!!! Does this sound right or am I just getting screwed over?
