Patek Philippe Ref. 5085 Watch Available On James List
In my opinion this is a Patek Philippe watch you just don't see every day. Not sure if it is still being made, but this is a Patek Philippe Ref. 5085 and is quite stunning for what it is. You really don't see a lot of Patek Philippe watches on metal bracelets aside from the sport themed Nautilus. This piece is extremely classic in style, and very legible. The movement is always quite pretty.Interestingly enough there are at least two types of casebacks for this watch. Some have exhibition casebacks and some have solid metal casebacks with the Patek Philippe Calatrava Cross logo on it. Why two versions? I don't think. Not sure if one is more rare than the otherwatches-dealering in a 37mm wide steel case, this isn't a very large watch, but in line with the size of most Patek Philippe classic watches. I love the highly polished rounded steel bezel and very utilitarian feeling hands and hour markers. The hands have thin strips of lume while the hour markers are accompanied by lume squares.

Ever Lose Interest Waiting For Service?
I sent my Nautilus 3710 Comet to PP/Stern for service in June. Haven't got it back yet (don't worry, this is considered normal). While waiting this past half year plus, I've kinda lost interest in getting it back. I honestly cannot imagine feeling all warm and fuzzy when I see it again. Actually thinking of posting it for sale as soon as it arrives home (whenever that occurs...)So has anyone else lost interest in their Patek while waiting the long-a$$ time it took to service it?
Incoming (Ruud Van Deja Vu)
If anyone ever says to you that lightning doesn't strike twice, you can tell them from me that they're talking I can assure you that it does. Oh yes. Oh yes indeedy! All excited, young Ruud and the long suffering, ever-patient Mrs Van D head into OP Singapore to go and finally collect my beloved, long lusted after 533. In we go, received a most royal welcome and then we're taken out to the back to the VIP room. This is what awaited, a table full of goodies and my 533.
