In-Depth: The Story Behind The Name 'Glashtte Original'
The road to Glashütte is long, winding and beautiful – just like the eponymous brand, Glashütte Original. HODINKEE recently visited Germany to learn more about how Glashütte Original is so intrinsically linked to German horological history. From the early 19th century with Glashütte’s four founding watchmaking fathers to the postwar German Democratic Republic (GDR) period, to the modern watchmaking renaissance we know so well today, watchmaking never stopped in Glashütte. Join me on a trip to Germany to learn what the “Original” in Glashütte Original really means. 1 OF 25 Road sign, entering Glashtte. Rough translation via Google: "Here lives the time, Glashtte wishes you a pleasant journey." ChapsI am seriously toying with the idea of buying a Speedmaster Pro 3570.50.Iconic Watches are offering a new one ( I can't show it as their website is down at the moment) and I was wondering if there is a difference between a new one and an older one.The new one has the plastic dial, is wind up and has a solid back with engraving. I don't want a see through as it is a bit too gimmicky.I like the idea of buying new as it will be a keeper but all I want to know, is it as good as the original.RegardsMick

I have to make this choice. The 2007 is in good condition, service 2 years ago. Please write your considerations! It's up to you.......
Tudor GMT Demand
Obviously, this question will be easier to answer once the watch hits the stores....but we do love to speculate here! The Tudor GMT has peaked my interest, but I'm not sure if I will like the size and weight. If I get it and don't like it, I would like to be able to flip it without losing much money.Since most Tudors lose a lot of value if bought at MSRP, I wonder if the GMT will hold value for those who buy at MSRP soon after it comes out. Have there been any other high-demand Tudors that have held their value? I see even the vaunted LHD Pelagos is selling on the pre-owned market for a pretty good discount.
