Llc?
My good friend and I are going to each get a Roo this Christmas. He is getting panda, me, the first offshore, the beast. He is actually my hair guy (sounds more manly than stylist) so I see him every 3 to 4 weeks. The plan is to swap watches often because we both love both. My though is to set up an llc so we can add more in the future and each chip in for insurance, maintenance etc. Has anyone done this? I'm a lawyer so sometimes I over think things but I assume you cant let someone borrow your 20k watch and have it be covered if they lose it when they borrow it 6 months a year. Thoughts
There seems to be a Trend...
...Of everybody getting a 15300! I finally received mine today! What can I say, I'm blown away. Having only owned Rolex and lower watches, I can really tell this is a step up. The white dial does have quite a formal feel to it, but I believe it will still go perfectly with blue jeans and a shirt, as well as a suit. The fit and finish is amazing, as is the way the whole piece reflects the light. The bracelet is like nothing I have ever had before, but so far is very comfortable (although I need to remove a link). I think the 39mm size fits perfect for my sub 7 wrist. The dial seems very white in some light, and turns to a slight silver in others. I think I am going to be quite distracted for a while looking at it!My apologies for the bad pictures, the Iphone is all I have at my desk at the moment.
Been a tough week for me....
Well a tough two weeks really. Saw a beautiful 1966 Rolex GMT gilt on a local auction site last week at a great price. My partner also saw value in it, so we bought it together as an investment. I also managed to sell my PAM190 and managed to fund a new GMT BLNR which I paid for two days ago. While at the AD, I asked about a 5167. They had just gotten it in. So fondled it a bit and realised I needed it. I have heard about Pateks speaking to people and can swear I heard it talk. It had been haunting me for the last two days and after a bit of forwards and backwards on the price, emailed them this morning to consider it sold. I'll go pay for it tomorrow. I am going to have to sell my Exp II and my SubC to help fund it, but that's what we do for Pateks I have learnt. Didn't set out to do this at all. But there you go. Grail watch dilemma
I'm new to the watch collecting game and I recently picked up a couple a new explorer 1 back in December of last year and more recently a sub nd in February - both to mark significant milestones. I sneaky wear the Explorer at work under the sleeve and the sub is my weekend warrior. I love these watches to bits - I think they are close to perfect and am super happy with them. But I would like one more to complete my Rolex collection C a BLNR - even though I bought 2 watches from my local AD they more or less told me to forget about getting one until at least next year and then they 'would see' what they can do for me.Under normal circumstances I would not be in a hurry to get this watch - but understanding that my local AD is my best shot and is really just blowing me off like this (even after me buying 2 watches recently) makes me realise that it's going to be difficult to get my hands on one some time in the foreseeable future...If I wait for my AD, it might get discontinued in that t
Blue dial with black shows and belt
I am looking to buy my first nice watch and need it to be highly versatile. The only watch that I seem to like that fits this criteria and my tiny wrists is the OP 39. I really do not like the silver colored dial, and while I like the blue, I am concerned with how a blue dial will look with black shoes and a black belt.I know that many will say to just get what I like but I won't be happy with blue OP 39 if I look like an idiot wearing it everyday looking like I'm color blind.Thoughts?
