Photo Report: A Quick Look At The Unique Tudor Heritage Black Bay ONE Reference 7923/001 To Be Sold At Only Watch 2015 (Live Photos)
On June 29th of this year, we showed you a simple looking watch – one made of stainless steel with a simple self-winding movement inside – that got a lot of people excited. I'm talking about the Tudor Heritage Black Bay ONE Reference 7923/001, a unique watch made for Only Watch 2015. The watch is a variation on the existing Tudor Black Bay, with a black bezel and dial and hands that resemble those found on one of Tudor's most collectible and sought after vintage pieces, the reference 7923 seen here when we went inside the Tudor vault. Not only is it great looking, but it's also the very first confirmed unique watch to ever come from Tudor. Now we have a few "live" photos of it – and it looks awesome. 1 OF 10 The 7923/001 is a true remake of a historical piece, which is actually in contrast to the existing Tudor Heritage line, which has always been something of an amalgamation of several historical pieces. The result for the Black Ba

Vintage Constellations - need some info
Hi all,I recently can't take my eyes of the vintage 1950s/1960s Omega Constellation watches. Unfortunately I don't know much about them (yet) to make an informed buying decision. Are there any particular websites out there you recommend? So far I only really found this:omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.ca/How much money would I have to save in order to get a nice Pie-Pan model from the 60s? I'm looking more for a SS model as am not really a gold kinda guy. (Gold markers and pointers are ok)It should look like this:.ebay.ca/itm/110866303816?...9#ht_500wt_951Has anybody ever bought from this seller? I don't want to buy a Franken watchThanks in advance!Herbert
Question about the GMT and Diver bezels
Please bear with me, I've never owned a watch with a rotating bezel before.I've searched and read a number of threads about loose bezels, wobbly bezels, bezels that pop off easily, bezels that are misaligned, bezels that spin too easily and bezels with play in them. So, let me be clear on what I have noticed with my new Seamaster GMT. First, here is what seems to be right with the bezel:It does not want to pop off; It's not misaligned; It's not loose nor does it spin easily; It clicks sharply as it is rotated; It does not wobble; It does not seem to want to lift up or pull away from the case easily; It seems to fit tightly on the case;It seems perfect except as noted below. So, here's what I've discovered. With the 24:00 hr bezel marker set exactly at 12 o'clock and holding the case in my left hand, if I place the tip of my right index finger at the 24:00 hr marker and tip of my right thumb at the 12:00 hr marker and apply pressure fore and aft, the bezel moves very, very slightly fore and
Sotheby's Results 6/14/12 - Is modern Patek now overpriced?
I'm looking over the Sotheby's numbers today. Most of the Graves/ Fullerton collection did great and far exceeded the high estimates, but the newer stuff kind of bombed in my opinion. A couple modern deals IMO from the Graves auction were:- Lot 23: 5040R - $35,000 (less than 1/2 price of last retail)- Lot 34: 5110P - $37,500 (the one later in the day went for ~$10k more!) The last 4 lots of the following general watch sale were all fairly modern Pateks and none even met reserve. They were a 3970EJ, 5970G, 5101R and a 5033P. Obviously, the reserves and estimates were a little greedy to say the least. Sotheby's must be disappointed to finish such a historic day on a sour note though. Wonder if we'll see a slow down in the market or if this is just a blip on the radar?
