New pickup! 26470OR w/ Leather Strap
Finally pick this over the full rose gold one. Been very undecided between the two. The Pounder is really nice but it's just too much and too heavy. Very happy with this one, got the short strap right away at the shop as well
WINNERS of Mr. H's 2012 Audemars Piguet Photo Contest
The winners are finally here!!! As mentioned by Ken on my other thread there are really no losers as everyone did a fantastic job with their photos. I can only wish I had more watch related stuff to giveaway to everyone that entered this year's contest. It was definitely a tough decision!!! A last minute decision was made and I have added a fourth place winner.I would like to thank our moderator Mailman (Paul) and our photo expert and friend Jocke for their help. I wish Dalip or Ken would've also been able to assist, however, Dalip is super busy right now and Ken was an incumbent. Drum roll, the winners are:1st Place goes to Peppers901st Runner Up: orangedial2nd Runner Up: kilyungFourth Place: Steelerfan65Winners please PM me the address where you would like for me to send you the prizes. RFI - Speedy Pro
Hello Good People,I'm seriously considering a Speedy Pro as my next watch, but I have some questions/concerns. Although I appreciate the fact that the watch is iconic etc., I'm not going to buy it soley because of its history. At the end of the day, it has to satisfy some practical needs. Admittedly, given the tenor of my inquiries, I'm not a WIS...yet!First, I wonder if I will miss not having a date feature. All of my other watches, including an Omega PO and an Omega day/date reduced, show me the date. As a result, I've become accustomed to having it. I also rely on the date feature for work...though I can obviously determine the date in other manners. I also recognize that I can get a Speedmaster w/ a date function but it won't be a Pro. Plus, I like the 42mm size of the Pro. Any thoughts?Second, is the manual wind a true pain in the or simply an inconvenience? Call me lazy, but I can barely function in the morning and the thought of having to remember to wind the watch gi
Please help in directing me to a new pp
Ok Mates, here it is... I am looking to spend no more than 50K (+- 10K) for another PP. This will be my last one. I currently have the 5167 on rubber and it is probably the best sports watch, all purpose PP I have ever owned. After combing the previous posts I have narrowed my choices to the following pieces, but want to make sure I haven't left any potential suitors out of the lineup. I am only interested in white gold and know that everyone's extensive knowledge can only help me choose what will be my last PP. BTW, I am looking to purchase new since I want my name on the certificate. I plan on passing the watch down several years down the road which is one reason for this. 5205 - Nice, but not thrilled with the dial choices. Afraid that they will get washed out at night and I will have difficultly reading them. 5146G cream - Top contender, however I am concerned that it may be too modern of a look. Dial is not too cluttered. 5396G - Very nice. Somewhat thicker than the 514
