Introducing: The Sarpaneva Northern Lights Limited Edition In A Smaller, Red Gold Case (Interview, Details, Live Pics)
Did you look up at the sky last night? If not, you just missed a totally amazing lunar eclipse. It was not just any eclipse – it was a complete lunar eclipse with a super moon, or perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system, as the astronomers like to call it. Of course a syzygy – alignment of the sun, the earth, and the moon – happens every new and full moon, but to have an eclipse when the full moon is at its closest to the Earth is something that will not happen again until October 8, 2033. For the occasion of what is also referred to as a blood moon, HODINKEE sent journalist Mr. Anders Modig to moon-phase, moon-face maestro Stepan Sarpaneva, the independent watchmaker based in Helsinki, Finland. Just before the eclipse, Sarpaneva was freaking out. 1 OF 7 “In general I am super-sensitive to the moon, strange vibrations. This whole week I have really felt the moon rising. What is your dream ROO spec?
What do you want to see AP produce? Which ROO would you buy today if it was available? What is your perfect spec?I want to see a 44mm ROO with a new in-house chronograph movement, RG case, Cermet bezel and an open worked dial. But I will probably buy the first ROO with a cermet bezel and an updated movement regardless of size or case material.
Question regarding date sticking issue
So we have seen some comments regarding date sticking issues for some time now, I own 5167 and so far it has been perfect (knock on wood), what I would like to know from people that had issues in the past, did the issue came after changing the date (other than 6 oclock that is recommended), did it happened suddenly? What happened? It would be good to have some additional context that might help current owners with no issues avoid doing something or get some piece of mind 😃😃

Back in the Sub Club
I sold my 114060 about a year ago, bought a Black Bay blue at the time but started looking at Explorer 1s this past September. The Rolex bug was there, but I didn't act on it. Fast forward to a month ago and I start looking at Subs, and it seems all hell has broken loose with pricing :) I wanted a Hulk, but not for $10.5k.So, I ended up with a recently serviced 16610 from DavidSW (wonderful transaction). I like 5 digit subs as much as 6 digit Subs, and it seemed like these are the best value out there right now. Couldn't believe what 14060Ms are going for So, out the Black Bay will go.
