Features of Peter Tanisman Carrousel Fantasia Watch
Itself (not sure of the size), the case is in 18 k white gold covered 161 diamonds (10.86 carats). There are dozens of emeralds, Ruby and sapphires around in it. Inside of the watch is probably a Switzerland quartz movement with the Crown on the back. The strap is reptile red with a gold 18 k strap (which has more diamonds on it).
The Delrin Brake.
A lot of discussion has taken place on the use of a synthetic (Delrin) brake used in the Speedy movement. The brake is part of the stopwatch function and, possibly due to the self-lubricating and durability of Delrin, the change was made to this material. The controversy comes when you purchase the clear caseback models. Omega then changes the Delrin for metal, presumably for aesthetics rather than for functionality..For some reason, this piece of plastic (actually Delrin was manufactured as a synthetic stone) has divided the Omega enthusiasts into two very opinionated camps...Personally, I would like to see the Delrin brake, a space age composite that can be machined and colored, in the clear caseback models..

Greetings TRF,After thinking a rather long time about the next timepiece I'd review I thought I'd give this model a try. Given that it is the only Grandes Complications model I've had the chance to actually handle and that it is a model I particularely love I think the choice was quite the no-brainer (besides, I hope one of our friends around here who happens to own one will chime in to give his opinion on it...).Today's review: the Patek Philippe 5159- The case: The watch's first forte, the officer's case is a wonderful asset of this timepiece. Everything on it gives you the feeling that you have a vintage watch on your wrist: the big round crown, the straight lugs with their screws replacing the usual springbars and, when you take a look on the other side, the gold hinged dust cover hiding the sapphire crystal case back that displays the movement. I must admit I used to feel a tad strange while looking at such lugs on watches as I thought they were cut too roughly off the case but th

Dual incoming - Thanks DavidSW
Once again I have made a purchase of 2 watches from DavidSW. Pleasure to deal with as always. Watches arrive Wednesday, but may pick them up on Thursday. Will be my future wife and one of the watches is for her. So I have them being shipped to work. Pics to Follow.
