Editorial: Arthur's Favorite Watches From Baselworld 2016
We all know who the heavy hitters were this year. So let’s start by getting them out of the way. The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in stainless steel, the Seiko Spring Drive 8 Days, anything Tudor, and the Laurent Ferrier Galet Classic Tourbillon are, as you know by now, on our most wanted list. Needless to say these were also my favorites. But in an effort to keep things interesting for you, and because honestly other watches impressed me too, here are seven watches that deserve some attention. 1. The Zenith El Primero 36,000 VpH Classic Cars 1 OF 7 Leave it to Zenith to come up with the coolest chronograph of the fair. Local Boutique has 2 Silver Snoopys... and I can't buy one.
I walked into my local Omega boutique and started chatting up the young salesman. I am new to the watch game and haven't purchased anything from this boutique expect a NATO strap for my PO. I usually pop in when I see this particular guy working because he is really cool, and I am uncomfortable with boutiques otherwise. He mentioned that they have 2 silver snoopy watches. This is my grail watch. I would wear that thing rain or shine. The catch is that they are waiting for one of their good customers to call asking for one. He also said they would probably sell it to someone if they were to buy a side of the moon watch as well. I would buy the Snoopy in a heartbeat, but I could not really afford both since I just bought a GMT. I'm not upset because I understand the whole best customer practice, and I really don't have a relationship with the boutique. I just hope the people who buy them are going to love it as much as I would.
