Switzerland Mourns Its Watch Messiah
Switzerland has responded to the sudden death of Swatch Group Chairman Nicolas G. Hayek on June 28 with a rare outpouring of grief, praise, and appreciation. Hayek, 82, was born in Beirut, Lebanon, but grew up in Switzerland and spent his entire professional life there. Hayek has been a prominent public figure in the country for four decades and one of the country's most famous and, ultimately, beloved figures. He founded a consulting company, Hayek Engineering Inc., in Zurich in 1965 and quickly became Switzerland's most important consultant, the Mr. Fixit that both industry and the Swiss government called on to develop strategies to fix seemingly unfixable problems. 2 year waiting list for Submariner date in UK
Hey, I wondered if anyone in the UK knew if quoted waiting list times were usually fairly accurate or just quoted to scare people off?Ive contacted all of my local ADs, one said Subs are first come first serve, another said the waiting list is closed because its too long and the last and only AD who would put me on a list said its a 2 year wait. Never heard of such a long wait time for a sub. Thanks
Can the Glidelock clasp put self-induced scuffs on bracelet links?
Tomorrow, I'm going to unbox a new Submariner and do the bracelet fitting myself . I intend to adjust links for a proper fit with the Glidelock fully or nearly fully retracted. This means the first one or two bracelet links will still be inside the housing of the clasp (as shown in the attached photo). Should I expect the housing of the clasp to leave scuffs on the links that remain inside of it?Thanks in advance!
