Richard Mille Introduces Another New Material to Watchmaking
Richard Mille has long been known for using unusual and often unprecedented materials in its timepieces, many drawn from the worlds of automobiles and aeronautics. Now the brand has announced another horological world-first a case made of NTPT (North Thin Ply Technology) carbon, to be used in a new version of the brand’s RM011 Flyback Chronograph watch.Richard Mille has reached into the world of nautical technology for its newest material. NTPT carbon was originally developed for the sails of racing yachts. Sails manufactured from it are highly resistant and light, and have been used in vessels that won regattas. The composite material, which is composed of multiple layers of parallel filaments obtained by dividing carbon fibers, has also been used for Formula 1 car chassis for the last two racing seasons, and in aeronautics for the fuselage of the future Solar Impulse 2 aircraft. The surface of NTPT carbon displays a distinctive undulating pattern, similar to a wood grain, form
Superb Piaget Ring Watch With Diamonds
This is not the first time that Piaget has placed a watch movement of small quartz on a ring, but for a reason, that this practice impresses me every time. It is a fairly logical extension of a watch and a ring. Often times shows a woman luxury is more than about the closure of watches and jewellery, thus simply placing on finger yield the same result if it is placed on a wrist jewelry. This ring of Piaget is really a watch of miniatures.
Aerospace 42 vs 43mm
Hello,Again the Aerospace is knocking my head... I had the B1 and I always said, if the B1 Super Quartz was 300 meters, will be my only watch. My questions are:Any photos of the Aerospace 42 mm near the 43mm?The difference in size will be so obvious? If not, is better to buy the old Aerospace at better price? Which color? Black, grey (looks brown to me in some photos) or blue. Black I don't think so... my DSSD and 422 already black. No problem in swimming pool, beach and water sports? 100 meters watch. .. Thank you!
First Basel Impression
So the anticipation has been crazy for weeks now. Teasers / leaked photos. What is going to come out or what will be discontinued. I have been into watches for a while, but not online. I am seriously tired and slightly disappointed. Am I alone?Year of the Pepsi!!1. GMT SS Pepsi - not a fan of jubilee otherwise I would seriously consider buying one (I respect the jubilee heritage - but like the oyster bracelet)2, GMT Rootbeer - actually like this in Everest/TT, but not enough to buy one3, Tudor Pepsi - I actually like the vintage look minus rivet bracelet.4. WG Pepsi - I like it with the blue dial/also like the older black dial - no funds for a PM piece yet (other priorities)5. TBD - Have been on conference calls at work all day so haven't seen other brands offerings. I want my next watch purchase to be my second Rolex so does it really matter. On a positive note: Hulk / BLNR are not discontinued I believe (Still on site). So far my four watches in the running for my next purchase are e
