SIHH Preview: Audemars Piguet Millenary Minute Repeater
Audemars Piguet created minute repeater and grand strike pocket watches from its founding in 1875, and they claim the first minute repeater wristwatch, produced in 1892. The new Millenary Minute Repeater incorporates the manufacture’s newest technical developments: the AP escapement and a double balance-spring, as well as the striking mechanism and its gongs. Having seen it, at last, “in the metal” at the Salon, we think we can address the questions many of you have, including how it works, and for those of you who are interested in quartz/mechanical hybrids, the question, “is it a Spring Drive?” The answer is both yes – and no. 1 OF 9 The good folks at Piaget must be mighty tired of hearing the words “Spring Drive” by now, although questions about parallel technology are fair. The 700P is indeed very close in most respects to the Seiko Spring Drive. Although there are some differences in execution,
New 44mm ROO or used RM010...
Hypotheroticial question but if both the same price, which one would you guys go for? Let's assume you had the choice of either the SS/FC or the RM010.
BNIB Omega Seamaster $1500?
At Sams Club last night I noticed an Omega Seamaster for $14xx. I don't know much about them, and am not interested in purchasing it, but was curious as to whether that's a good deal and also thought I'd post it on here in case anyone wants it. It looked like this:
