Perrelet Turbine Poker & 007 Limited Edition Watches
These two limited edition Perrelet watches go together right? Sure they do, gambling and 007? I am going to be careful and not mention James Bond. Perrelet doesn't mention James Bond and I don't think they licensed the right to use that IP franchise. Though apparently "007" was OK to use. The imagery they use however when discussing the Turbine 007 watch on the new Turbine micro-site is strongly evocative of the James Bond theme - without outright saying so. The official name by the way of this watch is the Perrelet Turbine 007 License To Play watch. Then there is the Perrelet Turbine Pokerwhich if you have a "license to play," you can. This piece actual comes in three distinct models. The difference of each? The cards displayed under the turbine.? Version 1 (Ref. A4018/1) has random cards and a pair of sevens. Version 2 (Ref. A4018/2) has a pair of sevens and two royal flushes. Version 3 (ref. A4018/3) has a pair of sevens, three kings, three jacks, and a few other random cards. Don't
Longines takes part in the popular US cultural events
The Swiss brand has rewarded the horse owner Barry Irwin, jockey Johnny Velazquez and trainer Graham Motion each with the clock of classical inspiration. The link above takes you to a previous article about the play more with the participation of the Longines with them famous racehorse. Participation in the well known high-society event is important for the historic mark fighting for much of the US market for watches high range. It is also part of an overall trend of watches taking more marks a key role in the popular US cultural events.
MKII Vantage for Epaulet
I'll start this post with a disclaimer: by the time I had a chance to write about the watch that inspired this post, it was sold out. I decided it was worth writing about anyway, since it is a beautiful watch by an interesting brand, being sold at a fantastic store. That watch, of course, is the MKII Vantage for Epaulet. The now discontinued and sold out MKII Vantage is an homage to the timeless Rolex Explorer. There is a fairly thorough history of the Rolex here, but to briefly summarize the Explorer was designed to commemorate the Everest expedition by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953. It was designed to be highly legible, extra durable and function in wide range of temperatures That is to say, be ready for adventure. The look of the watch just exudes purpose and elegance. It is the kind of watch that can be worn in any circumstance and with probably any piece of attire. The Vantage keeps the Explorer dial, but is quite different in some other ways. Here is a side-by-si
Any Love? 2531.80s?
I own one and up until I purchased my Rolex it was my best watch. I love the feel, the lum, the ruggedness, and the accuracy of the watch. I've had it a couple of years and it just keeps on ticking at about -1 second a week. If it weren't for it having become the Bond watch due to it appearing in a couple of films it would be close to perfect watch. At any rate here are a few of photos of mine. Anyone else have one they like?
Patek Philippe 5711 Nautilus (blue dial) VS Rolex Day-Date 40 Platinu,
Which of these two would you pick? I'm currently deciding between these two and I cannot make up my mind. Please help me out with this decision, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
