F.P. Journe Donates Auction Proceeds to Help Provide Homes in Japan
At Christie’s Hong Kong sale in May, the first all-aluminium F.P. Journe Centigraphe Sport No 001 sold for an extraordinary US$465,170, close to ten times its original estimate. The sale was to raise funds to aid victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The donation ceremony took place on June 3 at the Swiss Embassy in Tokyo. Gathered for the ceremony were the Ambassador Mr. Urs Bucher, Mr. Fran?ois-Paul Journe, Ms. Yuko Fukagawa from Christie's Japan, Mr Richard Bliah, founder of the Franco-Japanese FERE foundation, and the representative of M��decins du Monde. With its program ��100 maisons pour 100 familles', the FERE Foundation is constructing temporary anti-seismic wooden houses to relocate families that are victims in the northern city of Tome.Fran?ois-Paul Journe said: I am tremendously happy that the charity sale of the Centigraphe Sport will contribute to bring relief aid to earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan. Well, it looks like I'm really diggin' my Diver. I first got it 31 days ago, and I can't recall ever being so happy with any other watch. Ever. And I've had quite a few over the years... But back to the title of the post, I wanted to share how versatile the Diver really is. Yes, you may be able to say the same for other AP's, but since I have a Diver, this is what I'll share.With the original black rubber strap is is a true sports watch. It looks like a diving watch, and plays the part really well. Goes great with casual looks, it is light, it is comfortable and looks like a killer high-end tool watch.rubber.jpgBut when you add an original AP Hornback leather strap and deployant, it transforms into a more sophisticated and elegant piece, one that works great with a sports jacket, or business casual look. It still is reasonably light, and extremely comfortable, and having a deployant makes it super easy to get on or off your wrist, while keeping the strap looking like new

Five year old watch breaks for second time
Purchased a sub c just over 5 years ago and wouldn't even call it a daily. Two years in it stopped and was told while still under warranty a jewel had come loose and jammed the movement. Received full service at the time Today just 3 years later I've been daily wearing it while down in Florida Swimming etc but certainly nothing out of the ordinary. All of a sudden it just stopped. Tried winding but seems nothing catches when I'm trying to wind it. I can change time and date no problem but nothing will get it going. Mainspring? Lube job? Stem problem ?Really though. Twice in 5 years. I beat the snot out of my Seiko daily and still runs like a top
