Memorigin Tourbillon Watches From Hong Kong
I wonder what you feel about the Chinese watch. When people hear "watch made in China," what is it that comes to mind? It is likely a combination of both positive and negative things. I think most people think of either inexpensively made mass produced watches, or counterfeit luxury goods. That would be an under-inclusive, yet accurate description of the goods that come out of China.China makes more than just that, especially today. The "high-end" segment of the Chinese watch industry is beginning to take a more impressive form thanks to volume and confidence. A few years ago I did a review of the Longio Telamon 1000M Diver Tourbillon watch. In discussing that brand over the course of a few articles I praised them for their Chinese character, and I made an overall assertion to the Chinese watch industry of what I thought it needed to do to succeed. My message was clear, "to succeed and grow you need to work with your Chinese character and heritage versus just copying the Swiss." One of
Most Extreme Zenith Defy Extreme Yet! The Zenith Defy Xtreme Stealth Limited Edition Watch
There might have not been enough use of the word "extreme" in the title of this posting, but Zenith consistently abuses this moniker so I shall too. After the over abundance of the "extreme" label on most items a few years ago, I thought the extreme nature of product would subside. Apparently the marketing people at Zenith are unaware of the "extreme" faux-pas, or are serious as to the extreme nature of the watch, which it is.This new limited edition Zenith Defy Extreme Stealth is undeniably the sexiest thus far. The black materials with the matte red hands and registers on the face are simply too well done to be thrown in the pile of other red and black watches. What likely separates the red (on the Zenith Defy Extreme from other red colors on watches) is the application of the red on the hands and face. While most watches have colors literally painted on, it appears as though Zenith takes a different approach. Painted materials always have at least a bit of a sheen or gloss. At the v
Automatic problem/rotor problem?
Evening folks Just to share a story of my friend issue who just bought a ROO last week. So he suspected that the watch have an issue. Here is the case: when the watch turn off, no matter how many times he shake to watch, after 1-2 minutes the watch will stop, but then he give a winding about 40 times, the watch can last about 48 hours. Can some expert here give an explanataion why is it like that? Moreover when he wear the watch, if its around 48 hours the watch will stop. It means there is a problem with the movement as normally as long as we wear an automatic watch, after we gave full wound it wont stop until we dont wear it for several days. Need your help to explain this. Thanks
Breaking out the some AP Carbon for the weekend...
Loving the Alinghi as much as the day I got it.
Datejust 41 or Speedmaster?
Of course the title doesn't make sense so I will make a long story short. When I first got into watches I really wanted an Omega SMP but didn't have the budget. Settled for a Tag Aquaracer and sold it a year later to help fund my Sub 114060 which I love (my first keeper watch) and I am looking to expand my collection in the future. Before I pulled the trigger on the Sub, I decided on the Speedmaster but realized the bracelet doesn't fit right and that if I am going to own this watch, I want it on a black leather strap. I didn't want leather and manual wind for every day wear and also decided I like the hesalite version best, so I wanted something more scratch resistant.Recently I have become obsessed with the new DJ41, specifically smooth bezel on jubilee – Rhodium or blue dial (pictures absolutely welcomed, please and thank you).I would appreciate your thoughts and comments on whether you would go for the SMP on leather (with the option to add/change straps) or the Datejust41 (an
