Christopher Ward C9 Moonphase Watch
Sure,?we have all seen a moonphase before, but it is not the kind of complication one would necessarily?expect from English watchmakers Christopher Ward?C?especially not something this jewelery-esque. Christopher Ward has made a name for himself producing honorific homages to many of the watch industry's best-loved brands and their best-selling models. His watches are well made, sympathetically designed, and competitively priced. Crucially, the brand has, through consistently good reviews, managed to convince the buying market that a Christopher Ward is not an imitation, but rather a popular icon re-imagined. What we have here is a design one might more readily associate with a Piaget or Ulysse Nardin, rendered without diamonds or mother of pearl, and instead with affordable materials that make such a piece more accessible to the masses C kind of the Christopher Ward way.I must say, the brand has definitely grown on me in recent years C but, as I say, it took a while for me to reach th
F.P. Journe Historical Anniversary Tourbillon Watch Celebrates His Status As A Watchmaker
As we mentioned in our First Grail post earlier this week, F.P. Journe is celebrating a 30th anniversary, one that marks the occasion of his first watch (a pocket watch) having been completed. While 1983 is the starting point for the celebration, the journey to this first watch actually started five years earlier. The result is a new limited edition wristwatch called the Historical Anniversary Tourbillon timepiece.Working in a shop owned by his uncle, Journe worked nights and weekends to create his first masterpiece. And this wasn't just some simple three-hander. No, he had a love for antique tourbillons - so he decided to make his own. These days, that particular complication shows up all over the place. Thirty years ago, though, it was a much rarer beast - especially one that was made by hand.Needless to say, that one-of-a-kind pocket watch was the first signed F.P. Journe, and kicked off the journey that brought us the eponymous watch company in 1991. To mark the occasion of thirty

UK PM Discount Question.
HiQuestion for the UK members.Has anyone pulled the trigger recently on a PM piece from an AD?Only reason I ask is, I have been toying with the idea for a while now of trading a few pieces and stepping up into the big boy league with a nice PM piece. The option's are a YG Blue Submariner or RG Olive Green DD.Both stunning pieces and both very different watches so it's a tough choice.I'm comfortable with the Sub as I already have the Blue TT version (and is one of the watches I'd be using to make the trade) but the DD I'm still 50/50 on as I've never had a dress watch before only sports divers.Anyway, the real question is have any UK members bought either of those two pieces recently from an AD and if so what, if any, sort of discount did you manage to negotiate? Thanks in advance.Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
