My 5167a Tiffany Dial Story
First time PP buyer. I put myself on the list at every boutique that carried PP in Los Angeles and Las Vegas the summer of 2014. I only got one call on 12/1/15 and it was the Tiffany store in Beverly Hills. Purchased it next day and I wear it almost everyday! Funny thing is that about 4 months ago, I got a call from a boutique in Vegas that they had one for me to purchase. I guess they still actually do make calls to people on the list.BTW - I am now on the list for a 5712a so hope to be able to tell a story some day.
5170p - incoming
Many thanks to those who offered their thoughts and advice as I contemplated this purchase. I find this watch to be absolutely stunning. I always hoped for a blue dial, platinum 5170. Patek delivered at the 2017 Basel, but with a little curve ball. The dial (blue to black from inside out) is one like I've never seen. And the diamonds are not normally my cup of tea, but they truly are subtle and make the watch both dressy and fun. Here are a few initial pics, more to follow. *The plastic will be removed once I get home.
Finishing the year w/ a new Patek.....
I have admired the 5098 since it's release in 2009, and the opportunity to buy one surfaced last week, so an early Christmas present for me...
Deepsea New V PreOwned
I'm looking to buy a black Deepsea and was hoping to pick up a nice preowned one, maybe two/three years old with some warranty still outstanding. Having looked around for the last month or so, I now realise that I'll be paying almost RRP and this make no sense to me, as I might as well buy new for that money. Therefore, my search has had to widen to slightly older models. What do other members think of going for a 7/8 year old model to save 1,500 off RRP ? Is this a false economy ? I realise I will have to factor in the cost of a potential service, and will not have the benefit of the manufacturers warranty. Would you spend the extra and buy new ? Or buy a nice older model ?I would be interested to hear peoples thoughts on this, and would appreciate any help/advice.
