Watches NEWS
Hands-on with the Lm-Tec Combat B23 Carbon
It's not often that we'll take a look at a watch twice. Or rather, two watches in one series. They just don't usually offer enough difference to bother. Well Lm-Tec has consistently created cool new variations on their signature Combat line, a line of watches I personally just find really enjoyable. The first time they came across our desk, we took a look at two models, one an automatic in steel, the other a manual wound in titanium. I liked them both, a lot. Following that, they brought one out in bronze with a green dial. This was enough of a departure, in my eyes, from the previous two to warrant a new review or maybe I just missed wearing one, not sure. That one was fun, with a very different feel from the previous models.Well, in the last 6 months or so they've dropped a few more models, and started experimenting with some new materials that really interested me. Move over steel, titanium and bronze, and welcome the Combat B23 Carbon. The second watch we've seen out of "forged
Defakto Detail Review
When we found out a few weeks ago that Defakto had released a new watch, we got very excited. They are one of the few brands out there right now that truly follows the beat of their own drum. ?Their first watch was an ETA 2824-2 powered automatic one-hander called the Eins, which we reviewed a variation of?here. ?Their second watch was also an automatic, but a 2-hander, called the Akkord. Aesthetically, the watches are bold, but restrained, with large high contrast markers and hands, yet the good sense to hold back ever so slightly and focus on proportions. They speak both to contemporary graphic design and classical schools of design. The outcome was two very distinct watches, available in several versions that go for about $500 – $600. For their third watch, Defakto went back to the one hand concept, stayed true the graphic roots of the brand, but did everything differently, creating a very unique and interesting watch. The Detail brings a few things to the Defakto line up. Why The Hate?
Hello chaps, 1st time posting in this part of the forum...I was wondering why people seem to completely dismiss the AP T3 watch. Is it simply the size? Or is there another fundamental reason?I actually tried one on recently and it was surprisingly light and comfortable and didn't look as ridiculous as expected - my daily wear is a Rolex SDDS so I'm used to big time-pieces.There are a few around for sale but don't seem to move quickly. Is it one of those LE's that will just fade away with time?I'd love some opinions.....Cheers!
Incoming!!! 5167 (second and final time)
Guys,I had not had the chance of doing an incoming in quite a while, and this one is one to celebrate for.Last year I got this from DavidSW for a great price. They were not super popular I think. Then a few months later a collector friend offered me 2x what I paid for it. It had to go. I'd been looking to get this watch back for months. I literally called all 90 ads on pateks website. None had it. The best they could do is put me on list.Anyways, last week a fellow forum member gave me a tip about a local place who had 2 mint ones. And hey! It's back!! It's got papers, box, etc. It was bought originally in Sept 2016.This time I bought the bracelet version. I also bought the clasp and rubber straps straight from Patek, they should be here next week. Im also glad I kept the green one and brown I bought for the one I had last year, so I should be set.Moral of the story: think carefully when flipping!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Selecting A First (and possibly only) Rolex Sports Watch
Hi All!Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself as a new member of this amazing forum! I have always had an affinity for watches and all things manufactured and/or engineered. I have just started to become, what I consider to be, a serious watch collector and would love to have your opinions on which Rolex sports model you all would suggest for me. I work in real estate development so I am constantly shifting between rigorous work environments and more gentile settings (think architects offices, bank meetings, etc). I currently have a Speedmaster Professional on a leather strap as my daily wearer and wanted to add something to alternate with when the mood strikes me. I love my Speedmaster but a little bit of variety is more than welcome and I have come to really appreciate the Rolex brand!I have plotted out what I feel will be my future collection, I think its important to consider the entire context of the collection to answer the question I have posed:Daily Wear: - Speedmaste
