Bulova Accutron Sir Richard Branson Limited Edition Watch
Earlier in the year we learned that Bulova (owned by Citizen in Japan) has appointed Sir Richard Branson as a new brand ambassador. That seemed a bit strange to me. Not that Bulova wouldn't want Branson brandishing their watches, but rather that Branson - being mega-rich, and owner of the large Virgin group - would have zero need to establish the connection. I still don't know the details of the relationship (blackmail I am thinking), but Branson is going to be the Bulova poster child for a while.Clearly the "Virgin knight" doesn't need the cash. He has indicated that money made from his relationship with Bulova will go straight to his Virgin Unite charity, and some of the proceeds from the sale of the watches will also go to the charity. To honor their relationship there is a new limited edition watch.Bulova's marketing campaign with Branson seems to focus on his business success. "Men like Branson wear Bulova" is apparently the message they wish to convey. The phrase duo "Swiss Made
Speedmaster Pro Moonphase.
Hello -- I'm wondering if any of you Omega experts have seen a pre-owned Moonphase come up for sale around these parts? The model number is 3576.50.00. I think I might want it, but not crazy about buying one new. Any info would prove very helpful, and thanks in advance. Chuck
they are lowering production
It's not a secret that the watch industry is in trouble for the momentSome brands do barely sell watches, others offer models in steel that used to be in gold, or some brands use lesser finished movementsOr look wat lange did with the 'cheap' smaller saxoniaAll of this to survive in these hard timesWell I had contact with some Patek dealers and Patek is lowering the production. an AD get's lists with watches they will get in the next weeks / monthsThe last 'list' was was one with quite some cancelled watches. For example, the AD was promised 5 world timers , 3 Nautilus, 4 chronos and 9 Calatrava ... 5 went to 4, 3 became 2 etcI guess they don't want too much stock at the ADSo probably some sought after pieces with waiting lists will even be harder to get
Not Walmart but Costco!
A few days ago one of the members asked if you would buy a Rolex from Walmart. The attached photo was snapped by my wife at the Westbury Long Island Costco Store! Not Walmart but close! A yg Daytona with a black dial.I was shocked but she said Why wouldn't anyone buy one from Costco? After all you can wear it for a year and return it for a full cash refund She has a point! Marc
Double Incoming - one outgoing.
Hi all,Been a while since I've posted about a new watch purchase but this has been a busy week so I thought I'd post about 2 new incoming watches.I was at Fourtane in Carmel recently trying on a few watches. I liked a lot of the watches I tried on but LOVED the TT Submariner 116613. I've never owned a TT watch and this one really spoke to me. The bezel and dial were just beautiful. I immediately put the wheels in motion and within a week I had traded my Blue Yachtmaster and some cash for a LNIB Sub from DavidSW.I've also been looking around for the new Seadweller 43 and found one this week for a decent price so pulled the trigger - sight unseen. Never even tried one on. So glad I did. This watch is awesome and will now be my daily. I already own a ND sub but, sadly, I think it must go. I don't think I'll need 2 dive watches.Anyway, here's a few pictures of my 2 new watches: Thanks for lookin!!!
