Top Things To Look For In A Luxury Watch Part 2: Medium Range Luxury
For $1,000 And Up Watches:Once you have realized that getting a watch is a practice of passion and taste, you start to have higher expectations. Plus, your foray into the world of horology has led you to realize a few things. Among those things are that you want a mechanical movement over a mere quartz movement, and that names are beginning to have meaning to you when it comes to selecting favored watches. Not only that, but you also learn that just because fashion labels make nice clothes they aren't always key players in the luxury watch world (e.g. Kenneth Cole), despite the fact that they do indeed have a watch line. You might also be the type of person that grew up around watches and simply have more sophisticated tastes. Whatever the reason is, if you are going to spend $1,000 or more on a watch, these are factors you'll want to consider when getting a medium range luxury watch.1. Lume test
So was a bit bored this evening... Did a small lume test.Pictures is JLC Navy Seals, AP ROC, AP ROO Diver, Rolex Submariner.Loaded the lume with a LED lenser 225 lumens flashlight, 30 sec each.First picture fully charged, second picture 15min delay, third picture 30min delay.Easy to pick the winner... I'm not overly impressed by the Divers lume longevity to be honest. I did the test in a dusky light, as this light is IMHO a light where the lume comes into account. (Sorry for the bad pics)
Patek 5168g
Is the watch too thin for a 42.2mm case? Anyone have the privilege of trying one of these on?
Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time ref. 5524 with Lume Shots

Submariner Date for a PAM 312?
Hey guys, I have been admiring your Panerai pieces for a while, especially the 312. The strap combos are just incredible. I purchased the Rolex Submariner Date (V series) less than a year ago, and I am considering a trade + cash for the 312. Owning both is not an option at this point. In your opinions, would it be a bad move? As we all know the Sub goes well with just about everything, how about the 312?Thanks, I appreciate your thoughts ...
