New Moons: Ulysse Nardin Introduces Classico Luna Collection
Ulysse Nardin has once again utilized the expertise of watchmaker Ludwig Oechslin the creative mind behind the brand’s groundbreaking Trilogy of Time astronomical timepieces ? to launch an entirely new family of watches with innovative moon-phase complications called Classico Luna. The movement Oechslin and UN developed for the Classico Luna, Caliber UN-829, draws its inspiration from that of the Ulysse Nardin Moonstruck limited edition, whose hallmark was its realistic depiction of the moon’s rotation. The Classico Luna has a more streamlined, traditional look than the Moonstruck, with a slim case (in stainless steel or rose gold) and a silver or black dial with three Roman numerals (at 12, 3, and 9 o’clock) and simple, thin indices at the other hour positions. The date is in a small, round window at 6 o’clock. The watch’s most interesting feature is, of course, the moon-phase complication, which is displayed in a small, circular aperture that rotates ar
Vintage Speedy Service Question
Hi Everyone- I need some advice regarding servicing of my father's vintage Speedmaster. I've received a diagnostic test from Omega and they've said that even with the full service the waterproofness of the piece cannot be guaranteed due to excessive wear of the case That seems odd to me because new gaskets, seals, etc. will be put in (verified with the rep). Also, they will change my hands to luminova but will leave the original tritium dial. Has anyone heard of the waterproof issue? Is there anyone in the tri-state area that is trusted to service Omega watches to keep the piece vintage? If the chronograph didn't develop an issue I'd have never brought it in but unfortunately a service is needed one way or anotherThanks in advance!
Issues with Rodium Plating on Omega NZL-32
Calling all Omega experts:2 concerns about the NZL-32 that I would like your input on:1) Should I be concerned about getting a watch which Omega has discontinued (ie from a service or resale perspective)?2) What is the impact of the Rodium plating? Does this mean the watch will have problems with the finish in the future? Many thanks.
233 Dome Crystal - Ruud Van Egg-on-Face
Ok, let's get this over with. I have to confess that I got this one horribly, horribly wrong. I could've sworn the 233 I was admiring a couple of weeks back had a normal crystal. My guy at OP has just confirmed the 233 still has the domed crystal. I'm now off to go find a huge towel to wipe the egg off my face. My apologies guys. See attached pics of an S Serial 233 (I've edited out the number), which my man has just sent me.
INCOMING ...SD43...10 day wait!
I had been sitting on waiting lists in my area that gave me wait time of 1/2 years, but I am a very impatient person, and toyed with going grey, but found an AD that said if I paid in full it could be 2-3 months, but likely very less time.I placed my order & paid in full on March 3rd, and it came on March 13!I think that it certainly pays off to deal with an AD that doesn't do lists, as I'd still be waiting the 1-2 yearsIts an amazing piece, substantial without being cumbersome, very comfortable, not heavy and I think my favorite part is the mirror black fully graduated bezelThanks and shout outs to all the posters of the SD43 on here, it was great to hear so many opinions in my research before making my decision. Also, I had the divers extension removed at the advice of TRF membersCheersDweezil
