Join watches-dealer With Bulova & Feldmar Watch Co. In Los Angeles On November 20th, 2014
The Bulova Watch Corporation, as you may know, has been rapidly evolving over the last few years, with a focus on more classically-inspired designs, technical know-how, and a dedication to what made the historically-American brand great to begin with. Much of this has to do with Bulova President Gregory Thumm, who, as a master watchmaker himself, is helping the company to focus on its strengths.Bulova has a lot of cool history to share, and as part of that, we've worked with them on an upcoming event here in Los Angeles meant to showcase some of the brand's history, character, and display how many of their new timepieces are directly related to their past. Furthermore, Bulova will take the opportunity to unveil a brand new 24k gold watch as part of the first edition in the new Joseph Bulova timepiece collection. We therefore invite you to join watches-dealer and Bulova at the Feldmar Watch Company store in Los Angeles on November 20, 2014 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.Feldmar Watch Company 9000
Citizen Campanola Meets Chronomaster For Super Nice, Super Accurate Watch
Oh man, this one is rare, but you've got to love it. I think this is a perfect combination of style and technology that is bested in few places. Further, this particular Citizen Campanola is extremely rare. Probably only a handful are in the US. One of these is available right now on eBay. There are only 2000 of them in the entire world. You'll notice that this Campanola barely resembles the other highly-styled ones that Citizen offers. While this model (the CTS57-0701) is not as avant-garde, is certainly retains the high level of build quality in a more classic, almost military look. Citizen chose to endow this model with a highly polished and thick steel case, brightly luminated hands and number markers, and a level of detail and finish almost never seen in Japanese watches. The star of the CTS57-0701 is the movement that is the super accurate quartz caliber A660H. This movement is taken from the Citizen Chronomaster (not sold in the US). One feature the movement has is a perpetual cal
Hands-On: With The Meistersinger Circularis And New MSH01 Proprietary Movement
We introduced the Meistersinger Circularis last year, and were curious to see it in the metal since that release. The brand has been offering the single-hand concept for some time now, and while we're well-briefed on most of the lineup, it was the new MSH01 proprietary movement that caught our eye, naturally. 1 OF 8 The dial of the Circularis comes in three configurations – blue sunburst, silver sunburst, and ivory. The sunburst finish nicely accentuates the overall appearance of what is otherwise a very modest timekeeper. Why modest? Well, the Circularis has only one hand, and time can be accurately read only to five-minute increments. That's not a bad thing; it's both minimalist, assertive, and even kind of pragmatic. Meetings always start at such increments, and who needs that much resolution during languorous weeknights or weekends. Overall, legibility is just fine once you get used to the readout. 2 OF 8 The case of the Circularis me
First Nice Watch
So I joined the forum a few months ago to educate myself on Rolex's. I have always wanted a submariner and had my heart set on a no date 14060M. I prefer the vintage style and size of earlier watches and didn't want anything flashy. Eventually after looking around I just didn't feel confident enough to buy a used Rolex either online or private party. I had a local dealer quote me a price on a used one which was basically new msrp.Dismayed I began looking for alternatives. That's when I found the Omega 60th anniversary collection and specifically the Seamaster. I know some find this to be fake vintage, but this watch had everything I was looking for. It's the right size, clean lines and dial and will be a perfect one watch for daily wear. The watch arrived today and am extremely excited. I don't think I would have had the same feeling with a used Rolex.Pictures to follow when it's light out and bracelet is sized.
Speedy 3570.50 - Am I missing something?
I know this is the Rolex forum, but wanted to get an opinion from Rolex owners regarding this watch. I'm familiar with the history and clearly its a classic design. It's one of the best watches I've seen on a leather strap or a NATO. I tried one on recently and it really didn't sing to me like how it does when I see it in photos. It could have been the Omega bracelet, which I'm not a fan of or maybe because I started off with Rolex I'm a bit bias. What's the opinion from owners, how does this guy work in your collection?
