My AP RO on the road
We did a Canadian Rockies drive-a-thon vacation. We landed in Seattle and off we went with our rental van to Spokane Washington, headed through Idaho into Calgary, conquered Banff, Lake Louise, Lake Minnewanka, stopped over at Salmon Arm, and ate for 3 days in Vancouver. Needless to say, the scenery was amazing and simply breathtaking during the 10 day road trip. More importantly, we wanted to let the kids experience nature and know that in the grand scheme of things, we are just a tiny spec of sand in a huge beach and everything is all relative - always be appreciating your surroundings and the greatness of nature.Lastly, the 15300 did a marvelous job in keeping +3 seconds per day time and kept all of us on schedule Few road trip shots:Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed the scenery.Best,Fred
Longing for (another) Speedmaster Pro
So, long story short, last year I finally added a 3570.50 to 16 year old SMP 300 diver. I really loved it... But not for a daily wear due to the lack of date and, to some extent, due to the relative fragility of the hesalite that marks quite easily. Also, I was not smitten with the daily manual winding. In a course of two months, the watch stopped at least a twice, whenever that had never happened to me over the previous 16 year. I thus decided to get a Rolex BLNR as it suits my daily lifestyle that includes overseas trips and also has historical relevance in aeronautics AND decided to sell the Speedy to my brother to enable him such a fine time piece.I love my BLNR... But I am starting to develop a (serious) itch to add back a Speedy pro in my collection. I am note sure if I should get another 3570.50 (or whatever the new reference number is with the large display case) or if I should aim for a serious vintage piece (ie, one with a cal. 321). May be even one that is a worthy limited e
OMEGA 40th Anniversary Moon Watch Speedy Pro
Was looking at purchasing this limited edition watch... trying to warm up to the eagle medallion that has been added to the dial? Anyone else have this? Would love to hear your opinion about this vs. the classic dial face. THXJust to clarify... referring to the Apollo 11 40th Anniversary... THX
Yet another .... Incoming First Panerai Thread
I'm new to the brand and I must say I had great pleasure in unboxing this beauty. I think Rolex could well learn a lesson in presentation even though I quickly discard / chuck the boxes in a cupboard until flipping time!!I always liked the quirky look of the Luminor models due to the crown guards but I never really paid attention in any detail to the brand due to the seemingly endless repetitive models and confusing model numbering. Every time I've seen a model I like etc there was always some feature on it that I disliked (along with price) e.g. power reserve displays, painted dials, date, wrong case size etc. I'm still on the fence about the seconds dial although the 422 model was a close contender when I narrowed down my list!!!After seeing pics of a few base models it persuaded me to revisit Panerai however I was still not really convinced etc until I came across the 372 which on certain straps looked stunning on various forum pictures!Looking at the specs it seemed to tick all
Tudor BBB reasonable price?
I was offered a very good example on strap, with full box and papers at 3750 USD. Do you think this price is reasonable? These BBB seem hot recently.
