Good versus Great
As an owner of four Breitlings and two Rolex's, I have come to the following conclusion:Breitling is good but Rolex is greatRolex is just so smooth and clean. Don't get me wrong, I love my Breitlings it's just that the Rolex movement and fit and finish is a step above.Thoughts?
Navitimer 50th Anniversary
I had been looking for a Navitimer on a bracelet for some time but very few seem to come up for sale on the pre-owned market. Last March I was lucky enough to find a 50th Anniversary Edition A41322 I bought it even thgough it had a few problems including a sticking stem and was in need of a service.I have always liked this version because it has the old Breitling doublewing logo (first used on the Navitimer around 1960) of two planes flying in close formation. The case and bracelet are brushed in contrast to the shiny polished finish usually found on modern Navitimers. The movement is the B.41 an ETA 2892-A2 base with Dubois Depraz chronograph module.Anyway here it is many months after it went to Breitling!

Patek Nautilus Rose Gold Try Outs - My thoughts
I own a 5205R and has been itching to get a 2nd PP. Nautilus comes highly recommended. One classic and one Nautilus sporty watch. Makes a great pair. For a while, I had my mind set on the 5980R especially after an encounter at the Geneva Patek Salon. But there is a big stumbling block, ie my bank account. I balk at the price... it just feels too much. So why not get a 5712R? It slimmer, has a to me more attractive micro-rotor movement and is also a RG Nautilus and much more affordable. Besides, pics from our fellow poster Jorge makes the watch so enticing. So I set out to hunt for the 5712R. It's quite rare in my part of the world. Any available stocks are usually quickly snatched up although ADs can get allocation without prolong waiting. Finally, I heard from my local AD that they just got one piece in and it is not reserved and is available for purchase. So I made my way down to my local AD. My fellow WIS friend and a devoted Patek collector volunteer to accompany me ( or try to poi
Date Coming to Other Black Bay Models?
Now that Rolex has a date complication on the Black Bay TT and the Black Bay steel bezel, is anyone thinking that Rolex will introduce date to the other rotatable bezel Black Bays?
