In-Depth: Hands-On With The Entire Patek Philippe 175th Anniversary Collection, Including The Grandm
In October of 2014, Patek Philippe presented a collection of pieces that the world had been waiting 25 years to see. It was Patek who in 1989 launched the very concept of commemorative watches with its 150th anniversary collection and who today still garners more attention than anyone else in the world of haute horlogerie. We have already shown you the basics of what comprises the Patek 175 collection (see here, here, here, and here) but today we will go hands-on with all the pieces, as well as break down a bit more about what this collection may or may not mean long-term. Previous Commemorative Watches 1 OF 31 In 1989, Patek Philippe released a few limited edition pieces with an inscription on the case back. The most well known is the 3960, which you see above and below. This small time-only watch featured an officer's style case back and extended lugs reminiscent of an early-20th-century piece that resides in the Patek Philippe museum. 2 OF 31 A
Audemars Piguet Panda question
Hey guys - So about to pull the trig on this model - have a couple of questions...1. Is the bracelet of the ROO as comfortable as the RO? (I have a 15400) - I heard that the clasp on the H serial ROO isn't as comfortable?2. How does it wear on the wrist (for extended periods of time - on a bracelet) does it feel like a heavy watch or wear well?3. Any pics of an H serial or pics in general would be very much appreciated. Thanks everyone
Strap Question
I have the panda Omega Speedmaster date chrono on a bracelet and am looking for a strap option for it. I like the Cordura strap, but can't find it as an option to buy separately (is this available from somewhere to buy as just the strap?) If not Ive seen some other nylon/kevlar straps, but not sure what size i need to fit...20mm lugs and 18mm buckle? Is this correct?Below is my watch:Thanks in advance
Calendar reset best practices
I just realized that today's the 28th and tomorrow's the 1st (well it's already the 1st to a lot of you) so I'll have to reset the calendar on my watch. Just curious to know, when do you usually do the reset? Also, do you set the calendar to 31 and wait for it to change to 1 the next day, or do you just set it to 1 on the day of? I also read somewhere that you're not supposed to adjust the time between certain hours (~9 and 3 or something), not sure if this is true or not.
