President Bill Clinton Visits Detroit-Based Shinola
President Bill Clinton, founder of Clinton Global Initiative and the Clinton Foundation, visited Shinola in Detroit today. The Foundation has economic empowerment as a core mission, so the visit to Detroit makes sense. It doesn't hurt that Mr. Clinton is a major watch collector. Clinton wore a Timex Ironman and LIP watch while in office, but since has been seen wearing watches made by Jaeger-LeCoultre, Roger Dubuis, Rolex, Audemars Piguet and Panerai. The Detroit watch factory (we also visited about a year ago) is inside the College for Creative Studies in Midtown Detroit. Shinola also makes bicycles, journals, leather goods, and yes, that famous shoe polish.President Clinton said, "Shinola is a great example of how we can continue to build and expand America's manufacturing capabilities while creating jobs. It's exciting to see how the brand is playing its part in the economic revitalization that's happening in the city of Detroit." Also touring the factory with Clinton were Detroit Ma
The Bulgari Octo Maserati: A Triple Retrograde Jump-Hour Chronograph With "Maserati" Nowhe
Ferrari may have Hublot (and Movado?), but Maserati now has Bulgari.? The new Octo Maserati is really an impressive timepiece, featuring a jump-hour at 12 o'clock and a retrograde displays for the minutes, running seconds, chronograph minutes, and date.? What makes this watch interesting is that instead of opting for aggressive Maserati branding on the dial, you won't see the name anywhere on front of the watch.? Instead, the retrograde displays are styled in Maserati-like way.? The limited edition does feature the Maserati trident on the caseback, but in the world of luxury automobile-themed timepieces, that's about as understated as you're going to get.? Does anyone ride a motor bike with their RO?
Hi All,I am new here, although I dont own an RO nor a bike, I am looking to get both in the near future. It just suddenly cross my mind that if the RO can stand the ride of a motorcycle? Just wondering if anyone here wear their RO while riding their bike, or if you think it's a smart thing to do?Thanks all for your advise.SunnySent from my ONE E1003 using Tapatalk
Has anyone tried on the newer 42mm SO?
I was in having a look at the Breitling offerings at an AD, it has been a while since my last visit. I looked at the SO 42mm and thought it looked real small, after putting it on, it looked even smaller. The oversized bezel with the large chapter ring makes that watch look very small. I wish they would get away from that type of design, I have 42mm watches that would dwarf that watch. Is there a functional reason for this? I'm unaware of any that would keep them making watches that have that small dial look to their timepieces.
Omega Beginner
Hello all,I am new to this forum as well as the world watches. A brief introduction of myself - I am a recent college graduate currently working in healthcare in a non-clinical department office setting. The first watch I ever owned was a Tag Heuer Series 6000, I don't remember the model offhand but it had a green face with a stainless steel case/bracelet with gold accent. I purchased it from someone at work for $350. It was definitely legit, had all the papers, etc.. I kept it for several months, got impatient and sold it for $550 on eBay. A part of me has regretted that decision since I really loved how it fit. With the money I made from that, I bought another watch of which I can't say because it would be an embarrassment to these forums. Anyway, that watch barely lasted a month before I dropped it and it broke. I am now watchless. A little more about me - I am a tall guy standing at 6 foot 8 and the Tag resembled a woman's watch on my wrist, hence another reason why I sold it.So no
