Piaget Altiplano Skeleton Ultra-Thin
Piaget is the undisputed master of ultra-thin. The brand holds several world records for thinnest movements, both simple and complicated. At SIHH, the list of records grew by two with the introduction of the Piaget Altiplano Skeleton Ultra-Thin. Learn more about the new records, and find wallpaper and pricing information inside.Designing and constructing ultra-thin movements is part art and part science. The science and engineering side requires deep understanding of materials and movement architecture. The movement designers and engineers must not sacrifice rigidity to achieve a thin profile.Yet even the best theories provide only a starting point. In the real world, nothing beats experience, and Piaget is among the most experienced manufacturers in the ultra-thin realm. In 2010 the brand celebrated the 50th anniversary of the groundbreaking caliber 12P. I just picked up this RO chrono and I need an extra link
My first AP and I can't stop wearing it! Fits a little snug though and I want to add another link. There's a few on ebay but they are 16mm and 18mm. Anyone know which size I need? Also any good spot I can pick it up from?

Problem with display back on my Omega 2254.50
Some of you may recall that I installed a Thomas Preik display back on my Explorer II. There was no problem with it other than it changed the way the watch sat on my wrist. It was not as comfortable as the original. And as the Rolex movements are not as nicely finished as most other watches, I sold the back and restored the original steel back. With the money from the sale, I ordered another display back from Thomas for my 2254.50 SMP. In error, he sent a back for a mid-size SMP. I notified him of the mistake and he immediately sent me the correct back. I returned the mid-size back to him.I installed the correct back myself and later took it to my watchmaker for pressure testing. It failed miserably. The Preik back was a half mm larger in diameter which prevented the back from sealing properly. My watchmaker offered to reduce the diameter with his lathe for a proper fit but I wanted to consult with Thomas before letting him do the work.I have now emailed Thomas four times (begi
Panerai Research?
Where is a good place to research which panerai models have which features? I've been scouring the forums but can't really differentiate which PAM's are automatic versus wind, sandwich dial versus not, etc. With so much price variation between specific models/features the only way I can tell if I'm getting a good deal is by comparing it to the list price - but ideally I'd like to just know which one is giving me the best bang for my buck.Eg. Which serial numbers/letters for what dates. Any sites/links/sources?
