Konstantin Chaykin Genius Temporis Single Hand Watch With A Twist
This is Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin's latest timepiece, and they call it the Genius Temporis, which roughly translates from Latin to "the spirit of our time." That, however, doesn't particularly explain the functionality of this 16th century-style timepiece. What you have is the simple elegance of a single-handed watch with the ability to also know the minutes (on demand) when the wearer chooses.Single-handed watches are not particularly common, but they are popular among certain watch lovers. Long ago, it used to be that pocket watches only had one hand. That was mainly because they were simply not accurate enough to even display the minutes. There was a time when being accurate to 30 minutes a day was pretty good. The inclusion of a minute hand a few hundred years ago was a big deal, and really ushered in the era of modern timekeeping. Today, single-handed watches are less about considering the past, and more about the unique way you can conceive the day through the way tha
Oris Atelier Worldtimer Review On WatchReport.com
There are certain high-end Swiss watches that I've always admired for their style and function, among them is the Ulysse Nardin GMT Perpetual. It's a travel watch in the tradition of the Rolex GMT Master, but with a neat twist: It has two buttons that increment or decrement the local time. When you travel, simply press the buttons as required to jump to your destination time zone! Simple to use, hard to make and very functional. However, being a Swiss chronometer of in-house design, the Ulysse Nardin is out of my price range. Imagine my surprise and delight, then, at discovering that well-regarded Swiss brand Oris now has a similar watch, the Oris Atelier Worldtimer. AP ROO Panda - is this normal?
Hi all,As an update to my recent thread re AP ROO and small wrist, I bought the Panda in the end.. Taking your advice I got the short OEM strap as well and it fits great.. Thanks guys! (Pics in the other thread..)Just something I'm concerned about though.. After giving it a good wind (say 30 winds) and wearing it for a full day, I noticed that after taking it off, it stops in about 13 hours.. This has happened twice already. Is this normal? I thought it's power reserve was 3 days..This is a brand new watch as well so servicing shouldn't be an issue.. Kindly let me know your thoughts guys.Cheers!
Any guide to what Calatrava references used what dials?
Is there anything out there that I could use to determine what dials were available on different Calatrava references. Really like the 5196 time only with small seconds and breguet numerals. I know a few other references also used that dial style but it seems that many of those references also used other dials as well.Any resources like this online for Calatrava references? I'm guessing some of the books you can buy may have this sort of info. This is the dial style I am referring to by the way, wondering what previous references of Calatrava used it (I know the 96 did but have seen others pop up with this dial as well)
