Omega Speedmaster: Present Day
Speedys in the movies (and TV). Speedmaster, the early years. Graduation to the Professional ranks. Electronic, quartz, and other Speedmaster variations. We've seen a lot of the Speedmaster over the last few articles, and it brings us to the present day.For sure, Omega knows what they have in their heritage. Along with creating new models, the last few years have seen Omega releases in the form of updates to venerable models of the past. These include several models from the Seamaster line, Broad Arrow models, the PloProf, and the Bullhead. The Speedmaster line includes the First Omega In Space homage to Wally Schirra's Mercury Sigma7 mission watch and the new MK II. And most of these reinterpretations carry the new co-axial escapement which the late George Daniels kindly provided the horological world.A quick check of the Omega website shows 13 major Speedmaster models. The variations total 73 different current releases when you add up dial, color, case material, strap/bracelet option
What is this Breitling?
Hi All,I recently purchased this nice Breitling manual wind single pusher chronograph. I've been trawling forums to try and find a similar model but with no luck. The case size is 41mm.It looks like an early 40's model, maybe a precursor to the Chronomat? The dial has been restored from what I can see.Kind regards,Paul
Availability of PP 5575G
Dear All,Do you think there is still 5575G available from AD now, after 1.5 yrs from its first delivery to the market? The production number of 1300 seems to be quite big, hence is it possible that there is still some stock being held by AD?Thanks!Henry
5115G - Thoughts?
Just saw this watch for the first time. And I have to say - as a formal dress calatrava I like what I see. It is an enamel dial - which from my understanding is usually reserved for the much pricier pieces... (Correct me if wrong). I like the hobnail, the case shape and lugs, the enamel dial with the black feuille hands. To me it just seems to work where most other plain formal calatravas seem too old for ME - this one works. What is TRF take on this piece?
Replaced case at service?!
Hi Everyone! Happy & healthy new year to everyone!! I heard that when a case loses its waterproof intergrity, or becomes over polished RSC will change the case to one with a much older serial number. I was wondering what impact this has on integrity of the watch, what it does to value, and desireability? I would assume it lowers the value by a lot? But i may be wrong! Because in essence you are getting a brand new case.
