Maranez Racha Review
A few weeks ago we took a look at the Maranez Layan, a brass (yes, brass) cushioned case watch with familiar but classic looks, decent components and a hard to resist price of $250. Today, we're going to take a detailed look at the Layan's more robust sibling, the limited edition 1000M Racha. The Racha has several stand out features that make it stand out from the heard of dive watches falling in the under $1000 range. To name a few; it has a mighty water resistance of 1000M (which we assume has been tested by the brand), it has a proven and reliable Miyota 9015 automatic movement at its heart, it has a thick domed sapphire crystal, and handful of extra straps and perhaps most interestingly, two interchangeable bezels. For $599 plus $50 shipping, the watch offers a lot of value. That being said, the case and dial designs are very common. So the question remains, are there enough unique and interesting things going to warrant buying the Racha?Case: SteelMovement: Miyota 9015Dial: BlackL
Hard decision: 15400 or 15400or
Hi all.I got a Daytona SS, white dial V serial and would like to buy a dark dial watch. I really like the 15400 ( actually I tried on the 15300 in St. Barth. It was ok but I think I need the 41mm). Im between the 15400 blue or black dial ( blue dial would be my choice but its like 2k usd more expensive. Not sure if it worths) or 15400or ( black dial with brown leather strap if possible. Do you guys know if I can replace it easily?) . Daytona was always my dream especially the white dial which was soo rare in 90's... anyway ,nowadays I only wear the Daytona for day time.. beach places, wearing shorts or light color clothes. In my opnion the white dial is hard to fit with dark clothes ( I only wear dark clothes at night LOL). What do you guys think? Should I get the 15400 SS black or blue because I can swim with it and also wear at night..etc.. or I should get the 15400or black dial which I can't swim but on the other hand is very nice..etc. ? The 15400 all gold inclusive the band is ou
New bond watch...What are they thinking?
.hodinkee/blog/2012/1/...s-bond-50.htmlHave you guys seen this new LE bond watch? Does anyone actually like it? I have always wanted a speedmaster, but over the top commercial tributes like this really make me question Omega's respect to their own brand and history. Thoughts?
Any love for the 5396-R?
I'm in dire need of a dress watch. But I want something that can also be dressed down. I also think I'm ready to start swimming up stream with my collection. I have a few milestones coming up over the next few years and i think I'd like to add a Patek sports watch and a dress watch to celebrate. Ive been looking at the 5396-R with the white dial and breguet numerals and it looks stunning. My local AD doesn't have one to try on but said they've ordered one and should maybe be here this summer by the latest. So I was just wondering with the TRF community thinks of this annual calendar? Anyone have any wrist shots? Do you find it to be a keeper? Photo taken from the web. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
All good things come to those who wait...
It's a cliche, but a good one. I'm so glad I waited to purchase the 5726 1a from an AD, who had exceptional customer service. I am absolutely thrilled. I was too excited to set the date, here are some pics. Here is my thread dealing with an AD, with poor customer service. I'm glad I did my business elsewhere. rolexforums/showthread.ph...o+hard+to+give
