Frederique Constant Maxime Manufacture Watch Collection At Basel + Video
Frederique Constant has something to be proud about. At the very least it should be something?that is exiting to fine watch consumers. While not the only company to offer relatively low cost in-house made movements, their new Maxine Manufacture Collection watches are beautifully made and feature a totally in-house made Swiss movement for under 2000 Euros. Typically the cost for in-house made manufacture movements is much higher. The new movement is the FC-700 automatic, and is the accumulation of over three years of development. What surprises me is the look and feel of the movement. The focus on aesthetics in the layout of the elements (such as the placement of the balance wheel) is complimented by a level of decoration not expected at these modest price points. The gold rotor, perlage and other polishing, and use of blue screws makes viewing the movement a pleasure. Nothing makes me feel better than taking off my watch and showing it to a friend (especially those that don't know about

iwc xvi vs omega speedmaster moon vs Rolex Explorer I
Hi, all.IWC xvi vs omega speedmaster moon vs Rolex Explorer I...which one would you go for? Those three are more or less in the same price level. All are great watches.Difficult for me to select one of them?
Adding a 5980/1A
I was thinking of trading my 5712r for a 5980/1a, but then decided to keep it due to the dial preference and the gold value, however I'm now leaning towards of buying the 59801/a intead of trading for it,Is it really worth getting it since I already have a nautilus? Btw a friend is selling his 5980/1a for 34k USD, 7 months old and 99% new which is really tempting, should I go for it?
Just a follow up....
To this.....https://.rolexforums/showthread.php?t=561487As I posted before, I would do a follow up on feelings/observations, after slowing down, thinning the collection significantly, and rotation between two watches. I've tried pretty much everything (as well as other brands), vintage, and every metal....exceptions:Milgauss, Cellini, Yacht Master, TOG, probably a few more I haven't thought of. *Yes, EVERYTHING IS GONE BUT THREE Findings...(for my tastes anyway)....1. PM has spoiled me...love the look and feel, and when I'd put on my SS pieces, I usually couldn't wait to put my PM back on2. I COULD be a two watch guy, but 3 - 5 will probably be my comfort zone. I don't need a huge collection to be satisfied. Quality over quantity for me. 3. Love any Rolex blue. 4. After going back and forth a few times, YG will be in the collection. 5. I may add a SS back in at some point.....SO I WON'T be the guy who says.... I'm done But for now....pretty darn content! Anyway, just some TRF, light w
