Patek Philippe Reference 130 Mono-Pusher Chronograph In Steel Sells For $5 Million, And Other Such S
What is there to say? After Aurel Bacs and the Phillips team proved that one of the least-cool watches in the world could indeed be cool on Saturday night with the Day-Date sale, expectations were high but tempered for Sunday night's Geneva Watch Auction: One, a multi-brand, multi-owner sale encompassing everything from modern, still-in-production JLC's to piece-unique vintage Pateks. The entire sale netted $25.2 million (combined with the Day-Date sale, the weekend pulled in over $31m), and four watches hammered over 1m CHF, including a stainless-steel Patek that brought down $5m on its own. Let's break the sale down for you. Stainless-Steel Patek Philippe Mono-Pusher Chronograph Becomes The Most Expensive Steel Ever Sold, And The Third Most Expensive Wristwatch Ever 1 OF 10 A few weeks back, I wrote a story that there were four watches in this sale that could, and should break $1m. Montbrillant 01
Hi all,I am interested in buying a montbrillant. Important to me that it has the new 01 in house movement. Given the hit taken on buying new from AD I wondered if anyone had any recommendations as to where to source, I am happy with pre owned, as long as in good condition, with papers. Also, am I correct in thinking it came with the 01 from 2011 onwards? Thanks, Pete
A question for Speedy pro owners
Hi all,I recently acquired a speedy pro and noticed that I can hear it ticking from about 8 inches away.Do others notice this or just me?
5712 or 5205 or 5164A
Hi allNew to the forum and first time poster. Enjoy all your posts and discussions so thanks a lot!Wonder If you're be so kind as to give me some advice as i'm looking to purchase my first PP.I really love the Nautilus 5712 and but they're so hard to come by. I may have a lead on a G but the G seems a little bland to me. Lack of contrast with the white gold and dial? The R is gorgeous but will need to wait a while to source one. The R is pretty flashy though and I'm a relatively low key guy.The Aquanaut 5164A is beautiful but also super hard to come by... i travel a lot so this may come in handy and I think it would be a great daily watch. The rubber strap seems pretty casual but I suppose one could dress it down or up.My AD has a 5205R black dial ready to go and I could probably get it at the same price as a 5712. It's beautiful but again a bit flashy and more formal. The 5205G is available too but again seems a little bland? If I get a 5712 then I see little point in getting an Aquana
